Welcome to the site tristanne! I find your theory interesting, that makes sense, too! I can't imagine having both! That's gotta be a complete internal conflict ... ugh. Anyhow, again welcome! Everyone here is supportive!
Oha nd I just realized how UNobservant I am ... the original post was 2 yrs ago?! HAHA yeah ... I'm awake HAHAHAHA!

Hi Tristanne,
Welcome to the site. I'm glad you could share your story with us. And don't feel like a total freak, by any means. There are LOTS of other people who have both emetophobia and emetophilia - or some form of it. The thing is, sexual arousal is an AUTOMATIC response to a trigger. If something "weird" triggers this response, then it will absolutely do it again and again and again.
However, there is good treatment available and you can be completely free of this forever.
I have information on my little info website about emetophobia and finding treatment at www.emetophobiahelp.blogspot.com
Take care

hiya Tristanne,
I just wanna say I think its great that you have had the balls to come here and get that off your chest after reading the last fiasco of 2006!! Wow, youre so brave and I truly admire you!!
I cant imagine what it must be like to suffer from phobia and philia. That must be so confusing and difficult. I think its great that youve finally admittted it and want to get some help and support. Even thought I cant relate to the philia side, I can understand it and I dont find it strange at all. I certainly dont think youre strange for feeling the way you do, and after doing my own research and seeing what Ive seen, you are definately not alone hun. I hope you will come back again and that maybe we can help you in some way, and you can help educate us too?
Hope your exam went well?? Thanks for sharing with us,
Big (((hugs))) xxx
I have to say that I think a handful of people made the rest of us look bad, and that handful managed to post before the rest of us. Point is, honestly we are mostly an understanding group. Welcome!

You have slight Emetophilia. It can be a very unsafe sexual fetish, they even produced massive amounts of pornography for this audience.
I suggest talking to a doctor about your feelings. He may have some ideas to help.
Whats unsafe about it? She's not turned on by aids blood. I don't see anything dangerous in it.
Presenting this as something one NEEDS to cure seems unhealthy. Wanting to do so is a different thing, but its certainly not a risky fetish.
It "can be" because some progress into practices such as:Originally Posted by x hannah x

Just being aroused by it is not, (in itself,) unhealthy. It is the actions one can progress into.
My emetophobia started about the same time as everyone else\'s. I was about 7. I came down with emetophobia suddenly, in the middle of the night, when it was the last thing I was expecting. I had never heard of emetophobia, or imagined there could be such a thing as the fear of vomiting, but I\'ve thought about it every day since. That\'s a lot of days.
In the weeks after my episode, I looked up vomiting in the encyclopedia. I learned a few things about it that I never knew before, but what was weird was that whenever I would visit an encyclopedia or a family medical book or some other book that had information about throwing up, I would get this ... feeling. I couldn\'t exactly pinpoint the feeling, but I had this sensation in my private parts that I was suddenly conscious of. But I didn\'t know what it meant. It was just kind of a feeling of excitement whenever I read or heard about throwing up. I only threw up once after I became an emet, when I was 10.
The first time I thought there might be more than ordinary excitement to the feeling was when I was in the 8th grade and got sent to a study hall to take a test. As I sat there working on my parts of speech, a boy in the study hall, who I will never forget, was telling about something that happened to him earlier that week. \"I had a big breakfast the other day, and then I got sick,\" he said. I got that same feeling I had reading the encyclopedia, only this was different. More intense. I was 13 now. I had boobs. All of a sudden I felt this sudden state of arousal and something I had never felt before was happening in my privates. \"I was just about to go out and catch the bus, when I realized I had to go to the bathroom and throw up,\" the boy continued. I tried not to look at him as I pictured him in my mind running to the bathroom and bending over the commode. Did he make it in time? Did he splatter the hallway on the way there? Was his hand clenched over his mouth? I would never know. \"Quiet!,\" bellowed the study hall monitor. \"There\'s a girl here taking a test!\" I piped in, not particularly eagerly, \"Oh, it doesn\'t bother me.\" The nasty lady glared. \"It bothers ME!\" I finished the test but wondered what the boy and the others were passing notes about. Were they sharing details of the dreaded spew?
I couldn\'t understand it. Throwing up was the one thing I feared most, that I obsessed about daily. Every bite I ate from age 7 on, I wondered if it might come back again and prayed that it didn\'t. Yet here listening to this strange boy tell the study hall how he had thrown up had gotten me turned on like never before.
I had learned what masturbating was from Janey, one of my close friends, who always seemed to know about sexual things before anyone else. Janey told me she liked to imagine that she and John Travolta were doing it. One night I decided to masturbate. I tried to picture Tom Cruise (I\'m not a Travolta girl) but my thoughts kept drifting to that random guy from study hall. It had been over a year, at least. I kept thinking what he\'d said, and pictured him throwing up, over and over. \"I had a big breakfast the other day, and then I got sick ... I got sick ... I got sick ... I had to go to the bathroom and throw up ... and throw up ... and throw up.\" I made up the dialogue he would have said. \"Ohh... I feel sick. Ohh... I\'m gonna puke...I\'m not goin\' to school today \'cause I just threw up ... I just threw up ... I just threw up...\" That\'s how I had my first orgasm.
From that point on, most of my sex fantasies were like that. They involved various guys from school, or celebrities, and even my high school boyfriends, all being overcome by their stomachs. One of my favorites was that the guy was being made to throw up by the doctor for some test or something. I was often there holding the little bowl for him. Needless to say, I have felt very guilty and ashamed about these fantasies. I am still emetophobic. S
Hiya Jen,
Welcome to the site hun, and thank you so much for sharing your story. Took a lot of guts, and I know it cant have been easy.
PLease dont worry that youre gonna get any abuse or criticism here, we really are a nice bunsi of people!! I promise!! lol.
It must be so difficult for you to cope with being both. Like I said previoulsy though, I find it perfectly undersandable. Like you said, we ALL have an obsession with it, and there are a lot of people that get turned on by wierd things (by other peoples standards...scat etc). But I dont think theres anythiing wrong with having a fetish as long as noone is getting hurt. Each to their own!!
I really feel for you for the fact you feel you cant tell anyone or talk about it. Youre welcome to talk here about anything you need, and we will all try and help you the best we can.
Thanks again hun, and I think yure really brave!!
(((hugs)))

I have never been sexually aroused by the idea of v*, but I would like to share that when I was really young (like 9-10 years old, a few years after my emetophobia manifested), I would confuse sexual arousal with the anxiety I'd get during a stomachache. If you think about it, an anxiety attack and sexual arousal have similar symptoms. Shortness of breath, 'butterflies', etc. I can definitely see how some wires could get crossed in the brain that would lead an emetophobe to also be an emetophile.
That's an interesting theory, but I have to ask, you wouldn't spend those few minutes that way if you really felt nauseated, would you? So you can really only conquer the fear during some minutes when your emetophobia isn't truly bothering you.Originally Posted by jenn2020

Thanks for sharing your story, Jenn. The treatment for emetophobia and the emetophilia you describe would be very similar, and a good therapist should be able to help you. Although you may always experience the sexual arousal, there is nothing wrong with this. It's the shame that will kill you - and as I said, there is good help for that.
Take care

Tristanne, I see you have never posted a second time. Welcome. Since you posted we have heard from another newbie with the same issue. We have never heard from Jenn again either.Originally Posted by tristanne
I am inclined to doubt that your fetish caused your phobia. It sounds more like an unconscious phobia brought on your fetish and at that point you were more aware of your emetophobia. At least that is what I took away from your post.

About the porn mention....I have to say that they can produce massive amounts of porn about anything! They can take something totally innocent and turn it into porn, so we can't be afraid to acknowledge something that may turn a person on sexually because its been made pornographic. Because there would be nothing left! Do you know what I mean?

That's kind of funny. I never thought of it like that. I suppose people's preferences are to a large degree inspired by what they see.Originally Posted by jandub

theres absolutely nothing wrong with being aroused by vomit i too have been an enetophile since I was little definately dont be ashamed of what you like and don't even waste your time or energy on anyone that attempts to shame you or question you about your unique fetish just because they don't understand agree or desire it they are closed minded so they aren't even capable of grasping the concept at all whatsoever
So have you actually tried adding puke play into your bedroom yet sorry if I'm too direct I just really wanna find other people I can talk with about this all of my fiends know about my kink they all think I'm disgusting and don't understand at all imo they are all missing out lol
