Christmas Day it will be 17 years for me!!! Eek! I always love the Christmas season because Jesus was born, but I get so freaked out Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning every year. I was only 7 years old, and I woke up Christmas morning with an awful stomachache. I felt so rotten that I didn't even want to see what Santa brought me, but my mom dragged me downstairs. She gave me some 7Up and *graphic* I threw up all over my new My Little Pony carrying case. She took me upstairs to the bathroom and I took a bath and went to sleep. I felt better after sleeping a couple of hours and told my mom I was ready to open presents now. Then, she called my grandma and told her I felt better and that we would come over later that afternoon. While she was on the phone, I threw up again, but it was only bile. Immediately, I felt better for real, and was actually hungry. I went the rest of the day feeling just fine. But I'm still scared every year that I will wake up sick on Christmas morning. But if I make it, 17 years! Yay me!

You'll make it! Remember, which is easier said than done, that the day didn't make you sick, it was random. You'd feel that way about March 4th if you'd v*d on that day too. Congratulations (??? is that the right thing to say????) on making it that long!!! lol

Since my phobia really affects me when it comes to
others being sick so much more than myself. Well what about April 8? My
daughter's birthday. No I didn't v but my HUSBAND did! Uggh, everytime
it's her birthday I think about that. That could be the root of why I
resent him for being sick on that day, more so than some other reasons.

Oh no thats not good! I always get worried about christmas eve night too because we usually have a take away on christmas eve and I always fear getting sick during the night. although (I'm guessing that you're a christian if you believe in Jesus), read Isaiah 41:10 - really encouraging! I love this verse - it tells me to have faith!

God bless you and have a great christmas, Chris

I MADE IT 17 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very happy! But every year that goes by, I think it's one year closer to the inevitable. But 17 years is a long time and I should be grateful!

Merry Christmas to all!

How about January 1, like many others being sick from
having too much to drink, yep for me that will be TEN whole years this
new years. Jan 1 1995 I was as sick as a dog from having too much to
drink. I didn't vomit only once either but because of being drunk I
didn't care and didn't really know what was going on at the time. I
doubt I will really think too much about that this new year's day. I am
more touched by April 8 because of my husband doing it on my daughter's
birthdate! It seems like now every April 8 will be plagued with that
Too bad, because of how my phobia affects me that is how I see it. I
guess that is also behind of why I am so mad at him for being sick the
day she was born.

It is so unfair that we get sick on holidays or birthdays or any other important day. I really wish the last time I would have gotten sick would have been on some random day. Then, I suppose it wouldn't bother me so much. Life can be really unfair sometimes. Just get me out of here! Sometimes I wishI was like 80 years old, and then death would be right around the corner. No, I'm not suicidal or anything, but sometimes I think it would be nice to be dead...

I know how that feels too at times. Life really can be
cruel, especially being told by your therapist that you are basically
crazy (well he didnt really say that but it wasnt far off either IMO)
and then somoene telling you on Christmas night that you are too fat,
uggh! I really wanted to crawl into a hole and die. That is also why I
am so obsessed with finding answers as to how and why things happen, I
guess like everyone else lol.Even though many people dont believe in
what I believe in... I feel this is helping me anyway and it might even
unleash some answers..</font>

I can also relate... The last time I v* was Christmas night, 1998. I
get worried every Christmas now, to the point where I was actually
thankful that my fiance and I just stayed home alone together this
Christmas. It meant no one was around to make me sick, and I knew the
food was prepared correctly because he and I prepared it.

My theory is that it's because we get together with so many people for
holidays, exposing ourselves to sick children (and adults), and the
possibility of food poisoning.

guys - dont focus on these dates. i know its easier said than done and i used to do this too. but what are the chances that u are gonna get sick on the same day at the same time etc etc etc? think about it logically.....

ive been sick twice this year and i honestly couldnt tell you the dates or times. i know the months but im not gonna obsess about times and dates that really arent significant. Focus on the REAL signifcant point of the day - ie new years or Xmas or Birthdays. dont let emet ruin those 'special' days for you. dont let it beat us guys. Come on - i know we are all stronger than this.
