*sniff* I wish I had been able to come on for a little support but at the same time I am proud that I handled myself quite well.
I have not been sick now in at least 10 years now. I still can't figure out what it was that I ate or drank that made me so sick.

Graphic****

I woke up around 3:30 feeling horrid. I hadn't been feeling well the latter day. In the back of my mind I KNEW it was going to happen. Fortunatly there wasn't anything in my stomach except a dry waffle I ate when I came home after work and a Smirnoff Ice my husband had bought.
Anyways I stood in the bathroom shaky, sweaty/clammy, salivating and not being able to swallow. Then it happened. I had the toothpaste set up beside me, a glass of water and the tissues.
I did it alone, I did it without freaking out AND I went to work the following day.

OVER***

My husband even asked me if I wanted him to stay home with me and I told him he should go to work. I turned down comfort and went on with my day,
It was a downfall for me that it happened but I think I realized that it isn't SO SO bad. My biggest fear now is THAT happeneing away from home.

Hey. I am sorry you got sick, but actually, it does seem like you handled it well, so congratulations for that. If you do ever vomit away from home, just think of it as it being the same as doing it at home. I am not saying you'll vomit again anytime soon. But, if you ever do, remember that, if you are in a public place, it seems likely for someone to want to help a person if they were sick. Most people would feel sorry for someone that vomits because vomiting is no fun for anyone and it is quite a dramatic event, even though, to non-emets it means nothing or little. But if you ever do it in public, there would be no reason to feel embarrassed because everyone gets sick sometimes and people would understand, and try to help you. Now, if you were in a deserted place, like where not a lot of people are, if I were you, I'd be freaking out. I'd be freaking out if I vomited anyways, but I understand exactly where you are coming from. So, I'm sorry you were sick, but it is good that you handled it well.

Good job! You handled that very well. Its funny how that is, you know? We all get really worked up and then it happens, and its not as bad as we thought, but then right after we feel the exact same about it. You did excellently. You seem like a strong person. If that had happened to me, I would have called in sick the next morning most likely because I couldn't sleep that night after!

WOW Melikasa! I am so surprised how "cool" you have handle this situation. I think I never could be so cool. I am so scared of freaking out myself, if i have to vomit someday....

One question. I know so many german emets who said to me (after they had vomit): "Oh it wasn´t really bad at all."

Ähhh? What´s then the problem? I don´t know the feeling anymore. It is over 18 years ago.......

Some said: The nausea and the panic before are worse than the vomit-act....

Is that right? Did you feel the same way?

Thank you all.
Jenny: I think the panick and the attempting not to was worse than the actual event. The thing is that even knowing this later that morningI was just as worked up trying not to do it again as i was the first time.

The good thing is that I think I can differentiate the feelings I have that are normal or just slight nausea, over the REAL nausea that will end in actually being sick.

I don't know if I can say I am "cured" but I know that I am not AS freaked out about it. I am feeling better now. I was feeling better the next day, well as far as my stomach went. I was feeling kind of wiped out and weak but I think that was from the lack of sleep.

Once again thank all for thinking I am brave.

Yes the anticipation is much worse than the actual
event... when I v'ed 2 times on October 1 it came so fast I had no time
to panic... the feeling is AWFUL right before it happens but once its
done its done. For a while I didnt think it really helped me with my
emet but now sometimes I wonder. I now know the next time I feel sick
like that, I am NOT going to fight it because firstly you know its NOT
the end of the world if it happens, and you feel much better
afterwards, as far as dealing with others being sick, well no change
there even though I have recently been sick myself. Dont get it really.
I also think at times people v in order to clean out their systems
because I didnt have a virus or anything, and I dont think what I had
eaten that night caused it... the same thing happened to me almost 16
years ago... hard to really know why it happened, oh well. Well done
for handling it so well

Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn\'t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn\'t know that so it goes on flying anyway.
