I decided last night that I would figure out how many times I have actually v*ed in my lifetime. And, it was only 4 times. The first was when I was about 4 or 5 and ate some poisonous berries and had to take ipecac. The second time was when I was under 10 from a stomach bug. The third was when I was a teenager and had another stomach bug. The fourth was about 6 or 7 years ago from drinking. I just thought that was sort of amazing that since I have been an adult I never would have v*ed at allexcept for the time I was drunk. I have been around plenty of people who have been sick and yetI don't seem to get it. Of course, maybe that is because I won't clean up after them.

Does anybody else know how many times they have v*ed and would like to share?

Well that is an interesting one. I only remember v'ing once when I was really really small and then another time when I was about 7 and had a horrid stomach bug. I am now 29 and have not v'd since so that is a world record I wreckon. No wonder I have a phobia of it!

The amount of times I have actually v'ed in my life is
unknown. However I know I v'ed several times before I was 4, when my
emet had started. I v'ed after taking ipecac too after swallowing my
grandfather's heart pill because I thought it was candy and I v'ed A
LOT from that. Then I v'ed one time when I was 13, not sure if it was a
24 hour bug or something. Then again at 15, 2 times from getting drunk
for the first time lol, I was waaaay underage. I slept over at my
friend's house that night, her parents went out so we snuck vodka lol.
I wasn't scared though, because I was too drunk to care. Then again at
19 on New Year's Eve 94/95 from drinking too much again but didnt care
since I was drunk. So I dont really count those times I v'ed when I was
drunk because of the state I was in. So the last time I really v'ed
being sober that is when I was 13 and I am 29 now. Almost 16 years ago.

Hey all!

I think that i have v******** (too many astrisks?) , not considering when i was a baby and did the stupid spit-up thing, i think i may have only done it like twice. It was when i was like 4 or 5, and I had gotten the stomach bug and did it twice whilst i had it. God, its so vivid, too, like it was yesterday. Don't you hate that you can clearly remember terrible ordeals when you were younger but can't remember all the good things that happen? I know I do.

Yep you always always remember the bad times dont you.. *sigh*

I dont remeber v*ing when i was really little... the earliest i remember is when i was about 11 and i pretended i was sick at school so i could go home (i hated school!) so they sent me home and later that night i was sick, just once, never even felt ill lol!! Revenge or what lol

Then i V*ed from drinking when i was 16 eugh dont drink cider once ur already drunk lol. Then two years ago i caught a bug and v* and also last year i v* possibly from something i ate or a bug... so about 4 times and im 20 now... and the last two times were while i had emet, cos ive only had it for about 2and a half yrs.

i just thought of something a bit strange... ive never ever v* more than once at a time.. u kno like ppl say they v*ed 6or seven times when they had a bug.. well i only ever do it once? hmmmmm???

I vomited twice: when I was 7 and had a stomach bug and when I was 22 and was drunk. I am 29 now.

For my book I did a survey on the members of the Dutch emetophobia website and asked them how old they are now and how long ago they vomited for the last time, and the result was as I expected: the avarage age of an emet vomiting for the last time is 18. So more than halve of the members have not vomited since they are an adult.

Of course, you would need to do a survey of non-emets as well, to see how many have not vomited since the age of 18. If the statistics are the same, then it really isn't a valid survey. The fact is, most adults vomit less than children. However, I do think that emets have more control over their vomit reflex. It would seem to be logical.

I only vomited once from having a bug or eating
something bad at 13. However the last time I technically vomited, from
drinking too much was when I was 19. Nothing since then. Its been 10
and a half years since I vomited and almost 16 years since I vomited
sober. An awful long time right? However I agree, in order to find out
the average age is if you did do a survey, something to possibly
consider if you are writing a book about emetophobia. Good idea.

I think the survey still is valid. I don't conclude anything, I just state a fact. Only if you would conclude from the survey that emets vomit less than non-emetsor that also half non-emets have not vomited since they are an adult, you would need a surveyof non-emets.

But you are right that a survey of non-emets with the same questions would be interesting!Edited by: Margaret

i remember being sick when i was 4 in spain ( too horrible ), from eating too much chocolate in the heat, and i still don't eat chocolate to this day.
i also remember having a stomach bug when i was 6 and 9, and ihave not been sick since. I am now 14 years old.
i also find it sad that when i think back to my ealier years, i can only remember these sicky incidents! this is soo sad because i find these events really hard to deal with.
These are the only incidents I remember..although i was told that i threw up in a shop when i was little ( how gross ) lol
Fortunately, I have no recollection of this.
