I'd pop in and say hi.

I am new here, and I myself do not actually suffer from Emetophobia - my gf does. You may know her - hippychick

Anyways, my name is Karen, I am 21 and live in southwest england. I am not completely dumb to anxiety disorders though, since I have suffered from OCD and General Anxiety since I was 11 years old. I am therefore used to CBT and other behavioural type therapies. OCD and Emetophobia are closely linkedI believe. Anyways, I am currently coming off my medication of 4 years, with the help of Louise. *hugs*

    Hope you are all ok.

    Take care,
    Karen.

Hi Karen, welcome to the site,it's good to c people who are not emets on here as it shows that there are people out there that can be supportive even thou they don't physically or mentally deal with the same thing as us,and that takes a special person to be understanding and supportive....Good on u!!!! It's good to c someone else from the southwest here,i live in plymouth....Where abouts are u?

Anyway i hope u enjoy your time here and possibly learn traits and behaviour's from others....But i'm sure louise has told u all of them LOL!!!!

Hello Karen and welcome to the site. It's great to see you supporting your girlfriend, it just shows how kind some people can be. I'm Laura, I have OCD too, a lot of people seem to have it. Anyways, good for you for joining the site to support Louise!

    Hiya Laura,

Thanks for the welcome. Louise has been incredibly supportive of me with my ups and downs with OCD and coming off meds, so it's only right that I show her some support in return. I really care about her and will do anything for her to feel ok.

Anyways, Your OCD - is it mainly compulsions or thoughts? Mine is equally both, although I find the compulsions more easier to manage than the obsessions.

One more point ...... I am awfully disappointed that my own gf hasn't posted a welcome to me

    LOL.

    Love,
    Karen.

I do not know this woman...honest!!!!

Yes this is my girlfriend Karen, Welcome to the site sweetie. Make sure you keep it clean....no posting rude things

Karen is a wonderful person, she has never once laughed at my emet (well at least not to my face ) and has always looked after me in a panic. I'm glad you've all welcomed her as you could not find anyone more understanding of emet even though she is not a sufferer.

Be good! I don't wanna have to ban you
Be courageous, believe in yourself, and be the best woman you can be. I'm with you all the way.
