I would love as many opinions on this as I can get, as it will help me through my own therapy and maybe yours as well.

How many of you feel that your emet is in some ways related to a fear of rejection or a fear of being judged by others? Does the fear bother you more in public? Do you feel "safer" being sick alone? How many of you are shy or afraid to make new friends? If you are afraid to make new friends, is it because somehow you feel that they will reject you at some point, even if you never told them about your emet?

Please, all responses are appreciated, and if you don't want to post them here, you can send me a private message.

Peace.

Oh yes! I am really shy in school. [and here too i just feel embrassed -_-; heh heh...] I think that had to do with it..Yes i fear it more in public but also at home. But i feel a bit safer at home. Anyway, as i was saying, yea i'm shy in public. I cant stand people staring at me..Like if it was a presentation for school i wouldhave panic attack ><; and its hard to make friends. I just cant get enough courage to go up and say "hi" or something. Edited by: wing

Well
I have felt that way but I know it has nothing to do with emet. There
are other issues as to why I felt that way that I am not going to
discuss on here.

Thank you both for being the first to respond.

Wing, I know exactly what you mean when you say you can't get up enough nerve to say "hi".

Miriam, if you don't want to discuss those other issues, I completely understand.

Peace.

I have never had problems being out going, and rejection.... well I have kinda gotten used to that.... So no I don't... let me rephrase that..... In my opinion, I do not think that rejection, or a gear of people seeing me ill is the problem. Not in my case.

I know that i am scared of v* in public or anyone im with v* in public, i could probably deal with it at home, although i would still panic,. But im petrified it will happen on a bus or in a supermarket etc. I am also very shy, but i never used to be, only since i developed emet have i been this way?

i fear going to school usually. This is dumb because I used to see school as a release from being at home, yet now, I crave to go home on days when I'm panicky and frustrated.
I seem to have become very shy also, and I'm reluctant totravel, or to sit through loongclasses.
I hate goingout in public occasionallyincase peopl have thrown up on a roadside. The thought ofbeing sick infront of people, haunts me!
I have had friends who have thrown up in public places before, and this doesn't particularly bother me.
But if i was to come across acomplete stranger throwing up, I fear that I would lose a certain ammount of control over the situation.
