another hambuger meat question

so we get home today and dad asks If i want hambuger helper. yumm. problem. theres something wrong with our freezer and he takes out the hambuger and its thawed all over the inside, theres blood all over the inside of the freezer now. he tossed it out, but wants to use another hunk of hambuger that still looks half frozen in the same freezer. I dont know if this thawed or not. sigh.


I doubt im going to eat it. would you?

you get him to go to the supermaket and get FRESH!!! I wouldnt touch it
even if it seems okay. Who knows what bacteria is crawling around, yuck.

well i figure we only noticed today that our freezer went wacko, so if its partly thawed then it must have been semi cold all day. its only been today so it would be okay wouldnt it? sigh it smells so good i just cant bring myself to take the chance.

You know, with all these meat posts around here, I'd just suggest we'd all become veggies. Lolz...

The meat is fine. If the freezer just went out, and it is still partially frozen and atleast refridgerator cold, then it's fine. You can use meat for up to a few days if it thaws in the fridge, and this is basically the same effect. No worries, and beleive me, I am as paranoid as they come about food spoiling.

well iots been about 5 hours later and I feel fine. I might actually have some more. I got tired of throwing away food cause I was paraniod. turns out this was probably the worst situation i could have eaten food in and I'm okay.

That's really good. I hate worrying over food, I am too careful, but some things never change, eh? Anyways, good for you for being brave and eating it! I couldn't have done that! Yippe fora triumph over food! lol although I am sure it was fine it just goes to show its all in yur mind, eh?
