I was just watching the news and they made this announcement of a recall of ground beef from the place where I shop. It's got the e-coli in it. The really crappy part is, that even as I was watching this, I was eating some spaghetti which I made using ground beef from that place.
This is NOT good!
I'm unclear about how the e-coli stuff actually works. I remember that whole jack in the box thing, but those burgers were simply not cooked well enough right? Like, if you cook meat that has e-coli in it, it's no problem as long as it's cooked enough right? There's no doubt that I cooked this meat enough; first I cooked it fully in the pan and then after that it was sitting in boiling tomato sauce for half an hour, so there's no way it cannot be cooked. I just hope cooking eliminates risk totally!
I'm really thinking of eliminating ground beef from my diet totally. Too bad, since I quite like it. Not worth the risk though.
