hey Laura, first of all you only think your bf has the flu, so try to keep a little calmer, he may just have a bit of a cold hunny! if hes only been out of school one day we cant really determine what he is ill with yet can we. Do yourself a really huge favour and get yourself a good nights sleep, try and take your mind off it by reading a really good book, call your boyfriend in the morning and see how he is feeling, he will probably be right as rain in the morning ) Also if it helps try and concentrate on making him feel better rather than concentrating and channeling your panic into the possibility that you could get ill. Also I would imagine that if you were going to catch what he had, you would have it by now! So i think you will be just fine, so will your boyfriend!
    Much love and hugs!

    Hi Laura:

I would try to stay calm before you know exactly what is wrong with him. You don't know he has the flu for sure right? Maybe he just wanted to stay home. You are probably nauseated b/c you are starting to worry and that is only going to make it worse. Try to stay calm and hang in there. Take Care.

I know that as soon as I hear someone is out sick from work, I immediately think it's something stomach related, but really think about it.... how many times does the average person have a virus like that? Not many, it's usually because they've got a cold, they're achey, they are tired, other things than v*ing. Please try not to get yourself all wound up about something you don't really know, it's just going to make you upset and not get sleep and then your immune system will be down. Call him tonight, see what was wrong... then you'll know. Worrying about something you dont' know is futile. Try and feel better!

Okay...I'm confused with what "flu" you are talking about. Influenza or "stomach flu"? The stomach flu is an incoorect term, in a way, and confuses many doctors and other people whether they mean influenza or gastroenteritis. But, I'm assuming by "flu", you meant influenza. Now, influenza rarely causea vomiting, but like I said in previous posts, it can, but is VERY RARE. VERY!!!! So, just calm down and try not to think about it. Now, if you are afraid he has gastroenteritis (incorrectly called a "flu"), then you'd have a reason to worry. But I think that people are only contagious when the symptoms come on to up to three days after the illness. I'm not that sure, so don't really take what I'm saying too seriously. But I have read that somewhere. Also... how do you know that he was even sick? Did he call you and tell you he was? He might have had a doctor's appointment or something he didn't tell you about. Just becuase someone doesn't go to school does not mean that they are sick. Now, try to calm down and take care.

Hey guys, thanks so much for the replies!

I am feeling much calmer,I called and the phone line was busy, but tomorrow morning if he's not in school then I'll call again on my cell.

I don't even know for sure if he's sick, but you know us, typical emets, just automatically assume...

I will find out and post tomorrow.

Anyway, he's one to get sick really easy so even if it is that...well I'll cross that bridge when it comes.

Thank you soo much guys! Let's keep our fingers crossed and say a prayer lol

    hey guys,

i feel foolish for posting about this worry, as he was back to school today and of course I said right away to him, 'what was wrong? where were you? are you ok?'

Turns out he just had a cold and fever, stuffy nose sore throat etc.

So thanks you all for listening to my panic!
