Hi, was wondering if i could get some reassurance from
you guys. I'm starting a teaching course next Monday and am
starting to get really nervous about it. I finished my degree 3
months ago so i'm a bit out of practise with the whole classroom
scenario. Its also 9 - 5 whereas my degree was 4 hours a
week! Recently i've been feeling really nauseous when i think
about it and i'm not at all convinced i will cope, particularly when i
start my placements in schools! I am looking forward to it but
the emet in me keeps rearing its ugly head and makes me feel
terrible. Any tips and advice on what would help??</font>

Hey Rachel - were abouts are u based in the UK?

what will you be teaching? primary or secondary - or college? Your going to be fine - remeber that you have COMPLETE control over the situation - if at all you need to leave a room then you CAN. think about WHY you are doing ur course and all the things you are looking forward to.

Take one step at a time - u have some time before the placements to get focused - see how far youve come already by even enrolling for teacher training! your strong - you can do this!h

Thanks thats what i needed to hear. Having a
severe self esteem problem at the moment. I'm in York.
Going to be teaching lower primary (3 years to 7 years old). I
suppose as the teacher, someone else tends to deal with children that
are ill, which keeps me going when i flip out about stomach bugs in
school. Bit worried about catching something tho. OMG i'm
off on a rant again. Sorry </font>

Hey - ur not gonna catch anything - kids get all these bugs as their immune systems arent as strong as ours. and they will leave the classroom and someelse deals with that - not u.

I love York - its so pretty. my boyf took me camping in Rippon a few yrs ago and it was sooo pretty in that area.

Ta, i'm feeling a bit happier about things. I'm
hoping that when i get going i won't have chance to let my mind wander
on to emet type thoughts! York is a lovely place. I was
born and raised here and have no intention of leaving the area.
(I do leave the area for hols etc but always like to come back!)</font>

Hey,

I am a teacher and would love to talk with you about anything related to teaching, if you ever want to! I am in the US, but have been considering coming to the UK to teach for a year! Maybe I'll come to York! I also have an ex-boyfriend who teaches in Leeds. Are you near there? Anyway, good luck and let me know if I can help!
