Well, I'd like to say that I may have had reflux just a little earlier, but it has gotten better. I have never had this before, so can any of you tell me if this was it or not.

    My symptoms:

    1. Slight burning sensation in chest area

    2. A lot of belching (with a kind of weird taste, but not vomit taste)

    3. Well, my chest is feeling better now, but I still have a slight acidic feeling, but it isn't bad.

Also, if this was heartburn caused by an acid reflux, if I ever get this feeling again, do I need to get OTC medicenes, or will it often go away on its own?

Also... I would like to mention that I had a little triumph from this kind of thing. What happened, I think, was that my mother woke up and went to the bathroom and when I asked her what happened, she said that she got this bad taste in her mouth; this taste was the vomit taste. She didn't vomit, but I was constantly checking on her to make sure. She wasn't nauseated at all, just a vomit taste. Turns out she probably had acid reflux becuase she had eaten right before going to bed. Sure, I panicked at first, but, usually, I'd be panicking for hours afterward. So, I'd consider this a triumph for me because, even though I didn't stay completely calm, I got myself together and calmed down quickly. It may not seem likea triumph, but to me, it is.

Sorry if this post is long and boring (I know it is!), but I just wanted to ask those questions and mention my little triumph.

I think you should be happy for your triumph, it wasn't nothing, it was definately something!!! Be proud for every moment you control your emet.

As for the heartburn, I am the queen of heartburn, I suffered for years until I decided to have a camera shoved down my throat and they found a hernia in my stomach.

The signs you had were most probably heartburn or acid reflux, but taking OTC's can sometimes be helpful if it doesn't go away on its own or if nothing else you try works, they say to drink some milk because it coats the stomach.

I now take meds for mine but I used to take Rolaids or tums, I could never drink the chalky stuff cause I couldn't handle it, so keep something around just for next time when it happens, why suffer!!!!!

Okay thanks....like I said, it pretty much went away on its own, even though I seemed to still feel acidic afterwards or something like that.
