I wasn't sure where this thread should go so I put it here - purely so it won't get lost anywhere else!

I thought it might be nice for those of us who like reading to share our fave books or current reads...(sorry if some of you think this dull) Or maybe books that have helped us deal with this phobia/panic attacks/meditation - anything really?

I have to admit one of my fave books in Pride and Prejudice - perfect!

I also enjoy what I call "philosophical fiction" - I love all of Jostein Gaarder's work - especially Maya and the Solitaire Mystery!

The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho is very inspiring - but also a fairly light read! Lots of amazing quotes in it.

I'm currently reading "Last Year of being single" - A Briget Jones style book by Sarah Lucas (I think!)

Me 2 Hannah, I love reading so much.

My all time favourite books r the Harry Potter series, but I'll read anything and everything. I'd love to hear any recommendations.

My mum has jus finished reading the books A Child called it, A Man called Dave etc. Personally, I thought they were so sad, i cried numerous times. Has anyone else read those?

Another book I adore is Little Women, what a classic!

Hi. Im not really a keen reader either. But ive read a book called "Noughts and Crosses" by Malorie Blackman and the book really spoke to me. It is such a good book and i found it really spoke out to people in terms of racism. Another book which i'm reading at the moment is "Jurassic Park" by Michael Crichton, which is so much better than the film. And finally, one book that i found interesting was "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. Originally, this book was a school assignment which, in the end, i found an interesting book, based around communism.

YAY!!!! I love Harry Potter series! Can't wait for the halfblood prince to come out!!

Does anyone else visit JK rowling's website or mugglenet.com?? how sad am I??

Karen - Sophie's World is amazing - whereabouts are you in it? The first half - admittedly gets a bit tedious but get halfway thru to THE twist and you'll be like WOW!!!! If you find sophie's world heavy going try the Christmas mystery - its a bit lighter and will get you used to Gaarder's style.

Rachelle - I love Little Women too! Have you read the other 3 in the series?good wives,jo's boys andLittle men?

am glad so many of you like this thread

I read everything from sci-fi, fantasy, horror, literature, satire, you name it. Everything but romance novels.

Currently, though, I am writing instead of reading. I was told by my third grade teacher that I should cultivate my writing, because I was good at it.

It's time I try to live up to people's expectations of me. hehe

I LOVE reading!!! I am even in a book club, I am that nerdy! I will try to share with you all what book we read each month, if you are looking for something good. This month it is "A Fine Balance", by Rohinton Mistry. Very good, but kinda sad...I am only a little more than halfway through it...it is long!

    Happy Reading!

I love reading! It's a great way to get your mind of something and enter a different world. My all-time favorite book is "Tuesdays with Morrie." It's sad though-you'll cry! I recently read Dan Brown's "Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons". They are excellent. You won't want to put them down! Harry Potter is also awesome!

Last month's book was "The Brothers K".....very good. This month we are reading "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime".....I haven't started it, but I heard it was great! It is written from the perspective of a 15 year old autistic boy...
