I'm going to try to post this again. Everytime I tried it went into another post of someone's. Weird.

Well my psychiatrist didn't give me Phenergran. Instead she gave me something calledVistaril. I read about it online and it's sort of an antihistamine and it's supposed to treat nausea and vomiting. So does this mean that it will not prevent it? And what if I happen to get a stomach bug? Will I v? The reason why she is giving me this is because she is trying to get me on my anti depressants again and I said I wouldn't take them unless I was given something for the nausea. So I'm supposed to take my Luvox in the morning along with aVistaril. And in the evening I take Risperdol and Vistaril. So basically I'll have 24 hour nausea coverage, so to say. Only thing is, I'm not taking the Risperdol. I read the side effects and they are freaky. She said it's supposed to help with my body image since it's suffering but in my opinion, it's going to make me blind to what I really am...a fat ugly person. Anyways, has anyone here tried Vistaril ...and if so, how was it? Edited by: mystikal star

I haven't tried Vistaril but I've tried others - Paxil, Celexa, etc. - and I know that they helped me enormously...helped take the edge off and helped me really make progress with my therapy, which has helped me even since I've gone off the meds over a year ago.....I wish you the best of luck.

Hey Girly... Phenergan is also an antihistimine. It does help with nausea and emesis. As far as if you get a tummy bug goes, I don't know if it will prevent v* that is caused from that... I haven't experienced it with a tummy bug yet. (Knock on wood.) Try your new meds and see how they work!
