Well my mum is taking all of us to Alton Towers for the weekend and we're staying in a hotel thing. And I'm already anxious because I have never been to Alton towers or in a hotel before. Does anyone have any ideas on how to avoid seeing people v*? How likely are they to v* anyway? And which rides should I avoid? Thanks in advance!

don't worry too much! alton towers IS renownd for "those" type of rides, but there will be plenty of things to occupy you away from seeing anyone vomit lol.
If you do, atleast you'll know why.
Congrats for not chickening out! I would, im petrified of going to alton towers. There is some nice scenery where you're going lol, if you need to escape from the theme park atmosphere.
Take care,
Em

I've been to alton towers before and unfortunately my brother was sick while I was standing right next to him - but that was more to do with the fact that he had been to the cadbury's shop and eaten loads of chocolate then went on the thunderlooper ride where you go upside down ina circle then backwards in a circle, so he brought it on himself!

Of all the people who do get sick at theme parks, I'd say 99.9% of them are just because they have eaten a lot then gone on a rideso you wouldn't need to worry about cathcing anything if that makes you feel any better?!

Unfortunately there will be circumstances when you can't run away like when you are ina long queue of people for a ride of if someone is sick whilst on the ride, but I really wouldn't worry about that as most people that are sick are sick after they have come off the ride and not necessarily straight away, and if it is any consolation, when Iwent there my brother was the only person thatI saw besick and we stayed there all weekend!

Have a great time and let us know how it goes!!

Good for you for going, Hannah! I don't think I could be that brave.

Although I have no idea what Alton Towers is (because Im in canada) I have gone to amusmant parks for years. I just avoid the areas where there are huge wild rides, and I go on the tamer ones. Don't worry if you see v*, although it may be upsetting, you know that its just because of the rides, and there is no way you can catch it.

Also bout the hotel bit, I have stayed in hotels pleanty times before. Theres nothing to be scared bout, maids clean really well, and everyone just keeps to their rooms or outside where the attraction is. I actually really, really love hotels!

Let us know how it goes, and have fun!

Thanks for all your replies guys. But all that stuff about how I'm brave to be going is totally untrue. If I had a choice I would just lock myself in my room all day with a good book, but mum has had this booked for ages and she just assumes this is going to be a fun treat for everyone, and I'm not going to say anything andruin it for everybody, unfortunately my emotions have a way of displaying themselves on my faceeven if I don't want them to. My sister keeps telling me how selfish I am andthat if I go around looking like that at the park then I'll ruin it for everybody. And, just to add to the anxiety my mum is now bringing her friend who I don't know very well. Great mum, just take me to the scariest place I can imagine, make me feel guilty by sighing whenevr you see me, and just to add to the fun, lets bring a stranger along too! And she's coming in the car and everything, I don't know if she gets carsick and if she does, what can I do about it? I really really wish I didn't have to go or I wish that my emet would stop so that I could go somewhere and actually have a good time for once. I'm sorry to whinge like this, I'm just so sick of emet ruining my life and the life of everyone around me. I bet mum wishes she hadhad 3 normal kids who actually enjoyed going out places. Instead of being stuck with me. I don't even want to be stuck with me.

Hannah, i bet deep down your mum wudnt swap you for the world. your still human, ur still her daughter, and despite evrything uv been thru, ur still a LOVELY person!

ur family shud understand that ur just a bit anxious ( they know, dont they?) and maybe if u reminded ur sister how selfish SHE IS calling YOU selfish, it might shut her up.

but Hannah, u r brave, cause u cud have said, no to ur mum... but u didnt.. u agreed to go, and u r putting on a brave face as much as u can.

im sure ur mums friend doesnt get car sick, its very unusual for adults to get car sick anyway.

i really hope evrything goes ok

Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn\'t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn\'t know that so it goes on flying anyway.

Well
we have Canada's Wonderland here and not to scare anyone but I was good
friends with this girl back when I was 13 and she always obsessed on
if/when she would be sick. I hated her for that but she really didnt
know about my emet at the time so I couldnt really blame her. Anyway
she kept on whining right before we went on one of those spinny rides
(what was wrong with me those days! couldnt pay me to go on that today)
And right before we were about to go on, I wanted to sit next to
someone else other than her just in case... and it was a DAMN good
thing that I did, she v'ed in the cart! Oh gosh and I am soooo glad I
didnt sit next to her. Of course after it had ended, everyone was
commmenting on how disgusting it was and I was as far away from all of
that. She was mad at me for not helping to clean her up and I yelled at
her and told her I just COULDNT help her in this situation. She left me
alone and probably got scared by the tone of my voice because I flat
out yelled at her and told her that she was a wuss for v'ing and had to
throw in her face that no one else did!! I think I made her feel more
embarassed by it but I couldnt help it. You know, being an emet its a
sensitive issue right? Well I hope that didnt put you off from going to
the park. That was an isolated incident and I have never been in that
kind of situation since and surprisingly I have been to Wonderland
after that, just not with her lol.

WHICH RIDE WAS IT?
I have had passes eversince I was about 14..( at wonderland)
No rollercoaster can make anone vomit there is too much g
force and it happens very quickly so your fear of dropping
blocks everything elese. I probise Hanna that nothing will
happen to you.
Avoid seet foods and don't eat too much cause then you'll be
asking for it..

Umm
the tea kettle thingie things... cant remember but they spin you around
like crazy. Although it was in her sick head that she was going to v,
she isnt an emet, she was just crazy and apparently from what I hear
she still is.

I've never been to this Alton Towers place ever, but you shouldn't have to worry too much about seeing someone throw up. I went to an amusement park fairly recently, and I didn't see any throw up.

What you should do to avoid it, though, is not to go on the really spinny rides, not neccessairily the roller coasters, but the kinds that spin around rapidly. No one really ever gets sick on roller coasters, most roller coasters only last about 30 seconds, while spinny rides last much longer.

Anyways, have a really fun time and try not to worry too much!

Thats exactly what I was going to say: Just be more wary of the rides that make u dizzy. Motion sickness is all to do with the balance of theinner ear. Usually it is those rides which make ppl ill.

I'm sure u will have a wonderful time, dont think on it too much, jus enjoy urself!
