For the past two days I've had bad stomach pains. Not like cramps, I don't know what it is. Yesterday I woke up, it hurt a little at the base of my sternum. So of course I was too scared to eat. But then I got very hungry about 2 hours later, still hurt but I ate. After I ate it still hurt too. So it hurt all day, then I came home last night and laid on my belly on the bed for about 20 minutes and it went away. This morning, the exact same thing. But tonight I laid down and took a nap after I got home, slept on my belly for about 2 hours, and the majority of the pain is gone but now it hurts in my lower belly on and off. Like very light cramps. What is this? Am I getting sick? Somebody help!!!!

It sounds like you could be constipated, or have a lot of gas. I don't think it's a sv. Ususally when I lay on my stomach and the pain goes away, or I start farting I know it's just gas. Have you poop lately? That is probably what it is. Try drinking so gingerale so you can burb and lay on your stomach and fart!!

    yes seriously.
if the random bits of pain are varied all over different parts of your belly and at different times.. AND can sometimes be helped my moving your body in different ways.. thats usually a good sign of big ol gas.

*sigh* I'm trying to convince myself...my stomach's making some noises like I'm hungry but I won't eat til I know for sure. I'm getting scared because my bf needs me to go somewhere with him tomorrow...what if I get sick?

What's crazy is that these teeny tiny stomach cramps are making me feel depressed again. Why can't I beat this? When I'm feeling good physically I am also so strong emotionally and I give myself all kinds of pep talks, "I feel great today! Emet is not going to get me down. Even if I do get sick I'll be okay. I will not be scared" etc etc. I'll feel like I've overcome the fear for good. Then when it hits again, its devastating because I've given myself false hope. All I do is panic, get scared, get depressed, get lazy, and it beats me. After I had so much faith it would never beat me again.

How's your stomach now? I have bad gas at the moment. If I lay on my side, it helps. The pains seem to be everywhere. Like I can't even move. You will be fine. Have you ever tried sticking your butt up in the air? That works too. My husband used to be a volunteer firefighter where we used to live, but he's a personal trainer now. Where do you live? Is he fulltime or volunteer?

Are the pains still at the base of your sternum? I get that a lot too and it really freaks me out. I have found that mine is actually acid reflux (although I haven't been properly diagnosed). Whenever I have this, if I take an acid reducer (Zantac is my favorite) it is gone within about 20 minutes. I know how you feel - it is scary. It doesn't really hurt to eat, but it doesn't help either. It starts out just as kind of annoying, but then your mind makes it alot worse. Since it's acid, by stressing about it you just create more acid. That's what happens with me anyway. Give the Zantac a try. It really works for a lot of stuff!

As for the lower belly, it could just be things moving through your system. If you haven't had d* yet, I doubt you will. Have you been eating enough since this started? I know when I don't eat, my intestines will start gurgling and cramping like hunger pains even though my stomach isn't. It usually gets a little worse right after I eat (as my intestines attack the food) but after a little while, it all goes away.

These are just my experiences. Whatever you have, I don't think you are sick. It is probably just gas (like others have mentioned) or something like what I have. If it were a sv, you would have gotten hit with it hard from the beginning. Try to relax - you are just fine I'm sure!

I agree with sillygirl about the acid reflux. I have that, and I have stomach pains mainly when I get up in the morning. My doctor told me that it hurts because the acid you have in your stomach (which is normal) is all thats in there. That if you eat or drink something it should sub-side. Mine does, usually within just a few mins. If I take my Prevacid like I am supposed to ........... I dont usually have any trouble.
