I haven't done this in a long time. I am freaking out. I can feel my hear beating through my whole body. It is making my baby jump around like crazy in there. I am so worried that my sister brought something over when she came to my house this afternoon. My mom was sick last night (she claims food poisoning) but I just can't stop worrying. My sister was absolutely fine of course, they never used the same bathrooms, she was asleep while it was all going on, didn't even see my mom until after my mom had already gone out to run some errands. My sister didn't use my bathroom, I even made her wash her hands at one point while she was here (although she had already touched some things first). She brought me a couple things from my mom, one of which was a check which I know my mom wrote just before my sister came over. I can almost feel the germs still on the check.

I can't shake this. I need to stop stressing for the baby's sake. I also need to eat which I have no desire to do for the next few days. I am so scared I am going to get it. My mom is fine now, it only lasted maybe 12 hours, she has eaten today and everything. She thinks it was bad eggs, I hope she is right.

I started cryinga little while ago. My poor husband doesn't know what to do to help me. Make it go away!

I'm sure you will be just fine. If your mom was only ill for twelve hours I very much doubt it is a virus she had, more than likely something she ate that upset her. Even if your mom has a virus the chances of you catching it via your sister or the check are extrememly slim.

Try and eat something, even if it's something small like a bit of soup or toast, some plain boiled rice or even just some mashed potatoes. I know what it's like when you are in a state of anxiety , youdon't have an appetite and the last thing you feel like doing is eating, but really you will feel better if you can get some food down you, and it's best for baby too. The foods I listed above are the ones Ican cope with best when I have a nervous stomach and don't feel like eating.

Hope you manage to calm down soon.

you WONT get sick. you just wont.

and it is best to eat just a little bit.
i particularly like to eat sourdough bread when im feeling really upset from panic.
    or sweet potatos!
    and both handle themselves fine.

Please eat for your baby. You and your baby will get sicker if you don't. Try a liquid shake or a mineral water or something. Please... consider your baby. Your baby isn't the one with emet, you are - and you are carrying your baby. Your baby deserves the nutrients and deserves the best mother he or she can have, which is one that puts others before herself.

You will make it through this. Eat your safe foods and take your vitamins. *hugs*

I didn't eat much last night (luckily I had a huge late lunch) but I did take my vitamins, and so far all I have had this morning is some juice. I did bring some stuff to work with me for when I get hungry.

I spent the night massively cleaning the bathrooms (even though she never used them). I started feeling better after that. I was worried I wouldn't get to sleep, but I read and was able to fall asleep within about 30 minutes. I was in a nice, long deep sleep about an hour later when my husband got up and flew out of bed toward the bathroom. Luckily there was no v*, but he was in there a few times. He thinks it was from this medicine he started to take that was making him constipated. He didn't take it yesterday, so he thinks his body was just cleaning itself out. He wasn't up when I left for work, but when I said goodbye I asked him how he felt and he said he thought he was okay.

So now I am tryin gto kep my mind busy at work. I have my review today which is also making me nervous. There is a lot going on here, but that is another post. Today is also my husband's brthday. We are supposed to go out to dinner tonight (assuming he is feeling better) but I am really nervous about that now. I would feel better staying home with my safe foods, that I prepare, but I don't my phobia to ruin my husband's birthday.

I know the chances of me getting anything from my sister are slim, and I don't know why I am taking it so hard. I thought I was doing a lot better, but I really feel like I am going backwards now. I have had this little pain in my stomach since I left the house today. It is just a quick little pain spasm, just to the left of my belly button. It's probably just a pinched nerve or some stretching pain, but even that is scaring me now.

At least I have no chance of having to see my mom for the next few days. She has to go out of town for work, leaving this morning, until Thursday or Friday. Hopefully, no one will get it in the next few days and I will be able to relax. And now, on to the countdown! I am at 13 hours since I last saw my sister . . . .Edited by: sillygirl

Aww, I think you're going to be fine! Even IF your sister had it she wasn't showing symptoms and therefore wasn't contagious plus she lives there right and she isn't sick yet so if she isn't you can't be. As for the check I'm sure youw ashed your hands and if you think about it money is horrible dirty but we all touch it daily never knowing who had it last.

As for your hubby it probably was not beign on the medicine. Even w/o a constipating med we all have to "clean out" sometimes. If he feels well enought o work and go out tonight than I'm sure he's fine.

I hope you feel better, you will do fine on your review and you haven't caught anything!

My stomach is not happy now. I was really busy this morning at work and didn't get a chance to eat, plus I was a little nervous on top of that. I talked to my husband and he is fine and at work right now. My stomach started making all of these weird noises and gurlges, like my intestines were growling, so I ate some Pop-Tarts (that's all I had with me). Now, I guess I am just digesting really hard, because my whole stomach is rumbling and gurgling. I hate this feeling!

Thank you all for your reassurance. I am mad at myself for relying on it since my therapist told me I need to raise my anxiety and see for myself that I'm okay in order to get over this. But right now I just can't handle it. There is just too much else going on in my life at the moment.

I know how you feel when you say that there is too much else going on. I am right there with ya. Don't ya wish you could turn the world off for a couple hours??? Even sleeping doesn't help me, b/c I dream all the stuff that is going on, so it's never leaving me.

Try to keep it up. Yes, you should eat, but both you and baby are goingto be fine if you are eating slim for a few days. There are reasons we get those fat stores on our thighs!!

I really wish I could just shut the world off for a little bit. That would be so nice! Not to have to worry about anything for just an hour or so.

Well, the massive digestion has eased. Now I am just getting that sharp pain still in my stomach. It is really starting to bother me. When it's not there, I feel fine, but when it is it really hurts and is starting to make me kind of n* (although that could be nerves). I hope it is just a pinched nerve or stretching or something going on and not the beginning of a sickness!

I know how you feel because I would be freaking out too . . . and I'm also pregnant and did the same thing (not eating much) for 2 whole days because my 5 year old caught and sv* and I was so scared I was going to get it. Not only was the stress bad for the baby, but not eating was even worse.

How are you now? Have you eaten today? make sure you at least drink plenty of fluids if you can't eat, but remember the baby needs nutrition.

PS - When are you due? I am 26 weeks and due on 5/11! Congrats to you!

I did eat some. I didn't have much throughout the day, but since it's my hubby's birthday, we went out to dinner and I had pot roast. It was really good and I'm sure I need the nutrients.

I am 17 weeks now - due 7/17. I wish I was 26 weeks! I really shouldn't complain because I guess compared to some people this pregnancy has been pretty easy, but I still can't wait to get my body back.

I haven't heard from anyone at my parents house since this morning. I hope everyone is still doing okay. I think I will come up with an excuse to call them and make sure my dad and sister haven't caught anything yet. That would help me feel a little better. I am still doing the countdown here - almost to 24 hours. I will feel better tomorrow after the 48 hour mark, then a lot better Wednesday after 72 hours. I don't think the baby will let me starve it the way I used to starve myself!

I just got off the phone with my mom. She is in Vegas and feeling fine. Hopefully everyone will stay feeling fine!

Hey sillygirl....those little munchkins can get at so many things "inside". They will kick your ribs (probably a bit later), but he or she could be sitting on a nerve.

    Hope all is well!!

This whole thing is still on my mind. I haven't called my dad and sister to see if they caught anything because I can't think of a good reason to call. I don't want to call just to ask if they are sick. It's been about 48 hours now, so I should be able to relax a little, but will feel better in another 24 hours or so. I am just afraid to let my guard down.

I'm sure you will be fine..all of us are so careful about keeping our hands clean etc...and thats really the only way to catch one of these things. I have been freeking out ever since Christmas because i work in a huge office and it seems that like every other day somebody else is out with SV*..but I just try to keep all of my area clean with clorox wipes and use purell on my hands etc.

Try to eat something and I am sure you will be fine. I know it is difficult, but it really will be ok.
