Hey, lizzo. Some days (very rarely) I'll get one of those acid burps
and sometimes they even pop up with no warning whatsoever (feels the
same as if I'm about to V*, but without a stomach ache, it's always
fine.)

As for being told what V* feels like, I imagine that post about the ipecac experience was a little disconcerting.

WARNING: Potentially graphic and/or stupid. For me, it is gross and I
hate it (obviously), but it feels somehow like the ultimate
uncontrollable bodily function... sort of like if you sneezed and
burped and had an uncontrollable coughing fit at the same time. It is
not an unrelatable feeling, but it is just a logical extension of the
gag reflex really.

I get acid that comes up with burps all the time. The acidic burps then make me panic because they taste bad and then I suddenly get nauseated. Bad cycle to find myself in...

I think I have a serious acid stomach problem going on... and possibly an ucler. I don't have insurance to get it checked out, so I just suffer all the time with it.
I\'m always a shade of purple...

to purpleteacher, you should probably go and try somethign over the counter like Prilosec OTC, and for the first week or so take Tums or Pepcid complete, that should help. I'm no tNexium and it works better for me, but if I didn't have insurance I owuld definitely be on Prilosec. I have severe acid refulx, which is really bad seeing as I'm a singer, it has greatly decreased my range, which God knows wehre it would be if I didn't have this reflux. That's all it is, it doesn't mean you're going to throw up lizzo, but I can understand why you're scared. I'm really in an advice giving long posting meed tonight now aren't I?

i just had one of those acid burps a few weeks ago....
it came after eating a bit too much veggie pizza for lunch..
and it came while i was picking up something off the floor..
i freaked out of course and called my mom practically hyperventilating asking if i was going to be sick.. and she was like " no no no"

its also happened after drinking orange juice..

acidic foods like oranges and tomatos are bad for that.
think about what you ate. and steer clear maybe next time.
because it is normal.. especially if you were moving around a bit too much after eating...

if not.. then take the advice of the others.

I just had it happen to me the other day too and I also freaked out thinking that I was going to v* because it tasted like what I remember v* tastes like. I was ok though and I think you will be too! Isn't it funny that we freak out over the silliest things? To a non-emet they think we are being rediculous!

Dear Lizzo,

A little bit of acid reflux doesn't mean you're about to vomit, and it might mean you're very unlikely to vomit, because it means the stomach is nearly empty and all that's in it is acid.

It is important to keep stomach acid off your teeth. You can kind of recognize the feeling of it when you touch your back teeth together. When that happens, you should rinse your mouth and perhaps take some antacid or Gaviscon. Gaviscon is the best for blocking acid reflux and doesn't interfere with your stomach acid!

yeah stomach acid is bad in general, the only reason I found out I had reflux is because I'm a singer and it effects my singing voice, I always thought those things were normal, well it's normal every once in a while, but not everyday, now when I get it I kind of freak out, so yeah it's normal but just not on a regular basis and doesn't mean you will v* usually

I'm a singer too and the reflux makes singing hardest in the morning. My voice cracks and it takes much longer to warm up. I also have trouble talking because my throat will get so sore when I first wake up. I'm much better as the day moves along, saying I don't find some way to make the reflux worse
