Just wanted to run this by you all and maybe get some feedback. The other night I ate some diner food about midnight and went to bed shortly after. Well, I woke up about 4 am with a stomach ache. I went to the bathroom, hoping thats all it was. Anyway the ache intensified and wouldnt stop. Wouldnt come out the way i wanted it to and I guess I freaked out. I tried to "walk away" from it into the hallway. When I got there I started to black out. I almost fainted i think. I dont remember what happened exactly but i was trying to grab the wall to keep myself up and woke my wife who came to my rescue. She brought me back to the bathroom where i sat on the floor. My sight restored and i was face to face with the dreaded bowl (dont like to be in that position). Anyway, then it came the other way and I had two quick big sessions of diarrea. then I felt better and went back to bed.

So as is part of my phobia, i need to categorize this situation.

So the big question is for me: Did i have a nauseus dizzy spell b/c i didnt feel good or did i have a panic attack b/c i was afraid of v*ing?

Anyone relate to any of this????

    Thanks

This is the question I ask myself every time i have a panic attack. I'm afraid it's akin to the question "What came first, the chicken or the egg?" Chances are that you had both. You probably didn't feel well from the food you ate, which subconsciously got you thinking that maybe you would feel sick. Then you actually did feel sick and the panic set in. SO I think the panic stems from the real situation of actually feeling sick, because if you did not actually feel sick you wouldn't panic, you would just have anxiety.

Glad to hear you got through it okay.

Eating at midnight could be it. Our tummies are not programmed to eat a full meal at midnight (or any food for that matter). No matter what times we work, when we go to bed, our biological clocks tell our livers to function at their maximum capacity from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. By 10:00 p.m., we should have had our last meal at 6:00 p.m.This gives the digestion of four hours time before the liver does its thing. I learned all of this from my husband's surgeon when hetook our myspouse's diseasedgallbladder in 2003. He told methat his motto is - no eating after dark, or no carbs after dark.

So if you are notaccustomed to eating so late, and most ofus aren't, your body got a little shock.
