Those of you who have taken the glucose tolerance test and had to drink that nasty orange stuff... Did any of you get upset stomachs?

I remember taking it when I was pregnant and it didn't make me sick. Today I had to take a 3 hour one at the doctor's office and I had a real hard time choking it down. My stomach was upset for about 5 hours. Now (about 10 hours later) I am having terrible diarrhea. GRAPHIC. Like, I am s***ting water. Could this be because of drinking that crap this morning? I feel like a truck hit me. Then again, they did take tons of blood from me today. Is it normal that I would feel tired and have an upset tummy from this test? Like I said, it didn't do this to me beofre, or at least I don't remember this happening.

I had the test when I was pregnant and although it tasted horrible and took me FOREVER to actually finish, I did not get an upset stomach. I am 26 weeks pregnant and actually have to have that test done this Friday.

If you are feeling bad and they didn't say anything about you getting d* from the drink, then maybe you have something else. I don't want to say it's and sv*, but it possibly could be.

How are you feeling now? Keep us posted!

Have you called your doctor's office about this? I don't know if your reaction is normal or not.
I\'m always a shade of purple...

I did not call the office because they wereclosed when I started really feeling sick. I told the lady doing the test that it was upsetting my stomach and she said that was common. I asked if it made people get sick and she said she didn't think so, but that I should eat slowly when I left.

However, now my daughter has diarrhea, too.

I told my fiance he should call off work tonight because I am worried we might be getting something here... God, I hope not.

My daughter is bouncing off the walls right now.. She seems fine. And like I said.. I felt sick immediately after drinking that s***. Who knows. Only time will tell. Hopefully we will both wake up tomorrow feeling fine. I keep having to tell myself that sometimes people just get diarrhea... Why do I overanalyze everything????

It could just be your stomach reacting to you having to drink something that tasted like butt juice. I know that when I have to eat or drink something that I don't like the taste or texture of, I immediately feel nauseous- and it usually lasts for a few hours.

I had to drink that god awful stuff a few years ago when I was part of a psych study (easy way to make cash on campus), and I was so out of it at the time (no sleep + no food + taking a few vials of blood) that I don't think I noticed enough to feel sick.

You'll probably be fine Just think of the dhiarrhea as your body doing a little bit of an early spring cleaning
