I know so many people are reluctant to talk about the last time they v, myself included! Only my DH and the family and perhaps a few choice other know my approximate last time... So I was just wondering about you all...

    Question. What's a DH.
.I just want to feel safe in my own skin. I just want to be happy again. I just want to feel deep in my own world. But I’m so lonely I don’t even want to be with myself. <3

I had a sv 3 days before Thanksgiving last year. So you can imagine how much fun all that food was.

    I've had 5 sv , 3 with v*, 2 flu related, in the past 3 years.

11 years this year, I believe. Sometime around June 1995 *shudder* worst night of my life. I was 8, and although I only v*d once, it was the build up to it that was so traumatic for me. I'm sure I think of that night every day of my life.

I really don't know how I managed it Belle, apart from doing all the things emet's do! Keeping away as much as possible from people when they have sickness and spray dettol around everywhere, wash hands thoroughly, sit in Dr's surgeries with scarf covering nose and mouth, the list could go on and on! If I get anything which is very very rare, the last time was a touch of food poisoning, I get diahoreah! (spelling sorry!)

Even when I was pregnant I avoided it! I almost feel totally immune (TOUCH WOOD!)

I don't really know. I've been an emet since my teen but I've always qualified my fear as rather mild. I would rather suffer through a stomach ache than v*. I slowly drink some water and it goes away everytime.

As far as getting sv, most of the time, I don't get them and when I do, it's only d*.

My kids and my wife gets it every year and I don't. After 8 years of this, I'm starting to believe that my body is less subject to them and I'm incredibly lucky

This doesn't mean that I'll never v* for the rest of my life, as a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that if I did v*, it would probably help me get rid of the fear. I now have a pretty good idea what triggered it during my teen years and I believe I could get back to normal.

18 years for me this spring. I actually think it was only something I ate too. Noone else got sick in my house and I only v* once. The onlyother time I remember v*ing before that was a year or two before that and I think I did have a s/v. I remember v*ing only 2 times in my life. **Knock on wood.**

Nessy and Phil your streaks amaze me asI am around the age of your streaks! Were you around kids and or sick people often in those years? If yes, how did you avoid not v from that? I have a pretty long streak myself and my DH and family are confused as to why something I haven't done in so long consumes so much of my life presently! My biggest thing now is that we are due with a little girl in a few weeks and that I will be even more obsessed about getting a sv if - when she gets one.

Belle, I have an 11 year old son and he has had his fair share of sv's, but am generally not around people because I make sure I steer clear. But I travel on public transport everyday and am around people in a working environment everyday. I really don't quite know how I have managed it! I do take Aloe Vera supplements which are supposed to strengthen the immune system and have taken these for about 8 years and very rarely get a cold either so ...........

I am as confused as to why as much as anybody else is but am definitely not complaining!

Belle, no I wasn't around kids a lot before I had my own which made this phobia effectively dormant as I had very little chance of catching anything through them.

I would get a bit tensed when I saw or heard that an adult was sick but no more than that

7 years. Last time I v*d was 11 years old.

I v*d into a bin in class. I hate thinking about it, even though I remember every detail for some reason.
I traded my dreams for this mess of memories,
And they just stopped working for me.

I was three or four years old...I vaguely remember eating apples, walking intothe living room and suddenly seeing a puddle of v* at my feet.I don't remember how itfelt, although my throat stung for a while afterward.
