    Hello.

Just a little question here, does anyone else find that when they take a panic attack they have little ticks and so on? I get really bad ones, they're hard to control and quite embarrassing. I usually tap my chest and throat area and grab at my stomach and boobs and occasionally hit myself or dig my nails into my skin if its really bad. Oddly enough it seems to calm me down. I also used to tuck my hair behind my ears repeatedly.

Luckily I don't take really bad attacks often now only when I’m alone at night and feeling very ill. But, my boyfriend has been around me once when I was on psycho-mode although that time was enhanced by weed so more excusable and he's supportive. Anyways getting off topic here! The point is does anyone else find they do these sorts of things? It seems like a normal symptom of anxiety but I'm still curious. And is there any good ways to control it should I end up in a public place?

I have ones... like I pinch myself in places that hurt really, really bad! It is embarassing and ackward, but it works.

This is sooooo strange...I do the exact same thing, with tapping my chest and grabbing my stomach and boobs during a panic attack. I also put my hand right up under my shirt to touch my stomach or feel my heartbeat (I only do this if I'm in a private area).

There are ways to control it. I haven't had a panic attack in 4 months, due in part to medication, but also relaxation techniques. I've found deep breathing, muscle relaxation and affirmations to be the most helpful. Hot baths really help, too, if you're at home.

I grab my boobs too! Hehe... thank goodness for a bra that is forgiving My hands are always around my stomach when it hurts too.
