well if your taking the pill correctly, you shouldn't be pregnant. Its very rare, and usually people who end up pregnant while on the pill weren't taking it as they should be, or other meds interefered and they didn't realize.

That's my biggest fear. Right up there with throwing up.

I used to worry abou thtat too when I was on the pill. I had heard that some women can still have periods while they are pregnant, so I was always checking to see if it was heavy enough or whatever. When I finally did get pregnant it was because we wanted to and we were trying. I guess I never really felt any different at all. Nothing just hit me out of nowhere. I probably wouldn't have known if it weren't for the test and my missing period. I had some n*, but I think a lot of that was from worrying about getting morning sickness. The first real symptoms that showed up were really sore boobs and being extremely tired.

If you are taking the pills like you should, I wouldn't worry about it. I was on them for 7 years, and although I never skipped one I did take them at different times of the day and with antibiotics that decreased the effectiveness and I never got pregnant. I may have just been lucky, and I was actually kind of worried that maybe something was wrong and I wouldn't be able to get pregnant when I was ready. It happened the first month we tried so I guess not!

Remember though, worrying that you may miss your period can actually cause your period to be late. If you are being careful, you will probably be fine.

If you take the pill every day at around the same time and don't take antibiotics, there is very little chance you will get pregnant. But if you are not sure, instead of worrying, you can get a cheap pregnancy test at the dollar store. In NY we have a store called Family Dollar and I have been able to get very reliable pregnancy tests there for $4.00.

If you are taking the pill like you are supposed to, then you shouldnt be pregnant. There was a birth control pill that I was on once, and I didnt ever have a period while I was on it. My doctor told me that some BC pills will affect some people that way. I switched pills after a few months of taking those, because it was freaking me out not getting a period.

Thanks Im still paranoid, but I guess I will wait to see if the
period actually comes. I mean it wouldn't be horriable if I was
pregnant, I would just want to know. THanks guys...any other
    mommies know they were pregnant?

Now that I am pregnant, I think the part I like the best is NOT getting my period! It has been so wonderful not to have to think about it! I am already dreading getting it back after I have the baby . . .

Same thing with me Leigh- quite a few times with my former pill I wouldn't get a period....which I didnt have a problem with, lol. It was when I started to spot during the month that they switched me. I have only been on this new pill for a month and a half, so I'm hoping this one will make me almost period-less as well

I didn't take any birth control pills before I had my son (that's how he got here, used the withdrawal method) so I knew I was preggo when my period was 2 weeks late. I NEVER wanted any kids, didn't like them (sorry if that's mean, I'm not like that now!) so I was in total denial that I was pregnant. My college roommate had to actually go out and buy the test for me. I refused to get it. I guess I wanted to think that if I denied it, it would go away. Well, I took it and freaked out. I almost passed out and was so shaken up I almost v* that night. Wasn't an emet then though, so it didn't bother me. About 2 weeks later I had extreme fatigue, sore breasts, nausea, period-like cramps and sensitivity to smells and certain foods.

I am on birth control now and I do skip a pill every now and then, but my bf and I use no back-up protection and we haven't conceived yet! We do use back-up when I'm on antibiotics.

well I"ve been on birth control since I was...um...16...that one. so that's 4 years. I've yet to get pregnant. I'm not a big fan of the at home pregnancy tests because many people throughout the years would get pregnant and miscarry but never know it because they never knew they were pregnant because it happened within 4 or 5 days after conception, I mean if you're 2 weeks late yeah get a pregnancy test, but if you had sex 2 nights ago and think you may be pregnant wait it out...don't stress too much. Oh yeah and if you are still consistantly taking the birth control and are pregnant there is a VERY high chance that you will miscarry...yeah the lovely things I've learned from being on birth control. I've had a few scares there's one time I think I may actually have miscarried because of my birht control, but I guess I'll never really know. that's my 2 cents...
