Do you guys mind if I just vent? OK, so I'm taking a physical science class online (as well as 4 classes I have to actually go to). Well, I'm not great at science anyhow but this one is sooo frustrating, I just don't understand it and feel like an idiot! We have about 5 things to do pluse 2 quizzes for each chapter. Well for this chapter it's all due BY Saturday and I havent' completed anything. I've started a couple but get so confused and so frustrated! Plus we are only on ch.2! On the 1st ch. I got an 80 on the multichoice quiz (got 8 out of 10) and I got a 60 on the T/F quiz (3 out of 5). And that one I actually understood more than this one! AHHH! Mind you I graduate this summer (from the cc, then go to the university) and until last semester biology I had NEVER had a B, I had a 4.0! So this is just pissing me off! lol I really need/want to pass this class so I can graduate and move on and unfortunately I HAVE to take it. I'm doing 2 classes over the summer so it's not even an option thena nd will probably be harder in a condensed version. Are any of you good at physical science? Do any of you get "motion?!" I don't and I feel moronic! Thanks for listening to me vent and whine.

honestly, i was awful at physical science. The only thing that got me through it was the fact that my mother was ascience teacher, so she helped me. Did you ever think about getting a tutor? Or, what about an online study group, where you each help each other with the material?

Im a bio minor, and while Im interested in it, Im honestly not that great at it. is that what you mean by a "physical" science?

I know how you feel though. Last semester I wanted to just pull all my hair out with one course. It was like the most intense course I've EVER taken x 100.

now I kind of appreciate all the hard work we had to do ( the course was research methods, and involved research analysis, it was brutal) because I learned ALOT. I will never EVER forget what an Independant and dependant variable are, threats to validity and reliability, the steps of conducting an experiment, ect.

I think if you stick with it you will see that while its a challange, you will feel better afterwards that you made it though it. and, a B is a good mark!! everyone is not the best at everything and when I get a B I think its the greatest thing in this world! you should try to talk with the professor as much as you can. i always scheduled meetings with the lab instructor whenever I had problems with an assignment, and talking to someone about it always helps.

you are obviously an intelligent person. Dont think that because you can't get a 4.0 in this one class that it says otherwise. always think that you've done your best, and thats what matters.

Thanks, Babydoll. I've had other classes that were challenging but I still kinda got it ya know. The physical science class is basically a combo the physical sciences.(it covers physics, chemestry, astronomy etc.) We are in the physics part right now BLAH! And I know you're right about B's it's just that I started college at 24 and didn't expect to do very well then I got an A and more A's and it's addicting lol! Ugh perfectionism kills lol. Anyhow thanks again for the advice/support. I will stick it out, mostly because I have no choice lol.

I love chemistry and biology, but you get me into physics and I am one very lost person. I had 4 semesters of physics so far in college and got good grades, but I swear that professor must have given us the curve of a lifetime! I HATE physics.

I forgot the whole reason I posted, duh....I was going to suggest the "for Dummies" books. The one for calculus really helped me. I'm sure there's one for physics.

Simply Me,

It is obvious that you are very smart (having a 4.0!). I think
everyone at some point comes across a course that they find
particularly hard. Even being able to get a B in that class sounds
amazing, because heck physics is just very very hard and all that astro
type stuff, man.

What helped me when I had a hard class (for me it was accounting) I
practically lived in the study help lab. Thank God for that lab,
because I basically got nothing out of the actual class, the lady at
the help lab "translated" it for me in a way I could grasp, and I ended
up getting an A in the class! Does your college offer any sort of extra
help? Could you meet with the teacher and have some things explained to
you? Usually teachers like it when it is clear that you are really
trying to learn the stuff and will be more than happy to help you.

Thanks galadriel! I can email or call him, going to see him is kind of a hassle because it is an online class andhe is based at another campus about an hour away lol. Plus I found out there's others having trouble too so it isnt' just me. I know we have a math and language lab but I"m not sure about science. I will have to look into it.

Ahh! Science! I hated it. The only one I liked was earth science (studying rocks and volcanoes and weather, etc.) and some biology. But my dad was a chemical engineer and is super genius at math and sciences, and I scraped by the skin of my teeth. But I am really good with English, spelling, literature, etc. It's weird how we're so different.

Anyway, I have absolutely no help to offer. I just feel sorry for you. Sending some prayers your way.

Thanks Heather! Think I could borrow your dad? lol I'm the same as you, I can do English, history, I'm even decent at algebra and statistics but science UGH! I did do the quizzes today and tho the grades aren't posted on the multi(the one worth the most) I feel I did pretty good. The t/f well I think I have a 50% chance lol. Thanks for all your support guys. I'ts so dumbt hat I get this worked up over this crap!
