My son and I stopped by McDonalds today after church and I got a double cheeseburger. It was the first time I'd had one in a while because last summer I developed some kind of intolerance to fast food, would get d* and nausea immediately after eating it, but I've been eating it more often now since school's begun again. Anyway, the sensitivity seemed specifically related to these double cheeseburgers so I've still been avoiding them. But I got one today, since I haven't had an episode of this d* in a while, and now my stomach hurts!!! Those double cheeseburgers seem greasier than the other burgers there (if that's possible, lol). Now I'm scared I'll get this d* tonight, then I'll be afraid to go to work tomorrow.....this is insane...I'm 99% sure its not a sv, it's the greasy food, but I'm still nervous!

I"m sure it will be fine, McDonald's can do that. THey make me nervous now, since they don't ccok the burgers for you now, the meat just sits in those warming drawers until someone orders one!! That's why I like Wendy's, they cook the meat for your burger right then.

I always CUSTOM order every burger/ sandwich I get fastfood, therefore - it isn't stuck on a warmer. I will order it with extra mustard or lettuce or something, anything, to make sure they make it for me on the spot.

I always custom order, too, but the actual patties at McDonald's are already cooked and they sit in a warming drawer, waiting to be made into burgers, they aren't allowed to premake burgers any more and have them sit under heat lamps, but they are allowed to defrost pre cooked meat, or pre cook the aptties and just jave them sit in the warmer. That scares me because you never know how long it's been in there, and even getting my burgers right from the drawer, they are never HOT, just lukewarm!!

I had Mc.D's for the first time in a long time last weekend. It gave me the worst upset stomach. I took a Zantac and I felt better. If your stomach isn't used to all of that grease, that will do it. Plus it's just not the best quality of food. You should be fine.

I have been so afraid to eat McDonalds because of this very problem. However, after I got pregnant, I was craving a double cheeseburger and suprisingly I felt fine after I ate it! Since then I have had it about 4 more times. Every time though, I wonder if it's going to come back and bite me.

I hope you are feeling better! I agree with kellybean - Zantac works wonders for upset stomachs. I love the stuff! It's been hard living without it since I've been pregnant!

When you don't eat fatty/greasy foods for a while and suddenly eat a McDonalds, I'd say it's pretty normal to feel a bit off colour. Your body has to readjust to digesting fats etc, and it can upset you a bit.

I personally never eat fast foods because of emet but on the off chance I have to now,I really suffer for the next 12 hours or so.

Oh, and silver, I watched the first 10 minutes of Super Size Me. After thescene where they showed him having a little accident"out the car" (I'm sure you'll know what I mean) I couldn't watch it any more!

    Hope you're ok,

it's probably just the greasiness of the food. yuck! it could also be that you associate an upset stomach with mcdonalds, maybe because you thought it made you sick last summer, you thought it was doing it again. i do that to myself all the time. and i agree with silver, see 'Supersize Me'! it's areally interesting documentary and you'll never eat Mickey D's again!

About 30 minutes after my post I had very mild d*. My stomach hurt a little bit all night, but I was fine. There I was again today, back at McDonalds to get a different burger, forget those double cheeseburgers! I don't know why they are the only ones that give me the d*. The one I had about 2 hours ago isn't bothering me at all!

I saw that "super size me" and I loved it! I can't believe what that guy did to his body. And here I am, talking about how I just had mcdonalds two days in a row, lol!

Well I don't eat fast food at all. But greasy meat can for sure
make you feel sick with d*. That happened to me. I don't
usually eat red meat, but I needed a big strong iron boost
because I was sick with a cold, and I had ground beef for
dinner. The next morning I had a yucky sotmach and d*. But as
soon as the meat had past I was fine. I will tell you I'm only
sticking with steak and poultry. But I get more and more scared
    to eat Poultry these days.

Sometimes I eat pizza and get the worst indigestion, like the greasy cheese affects me and I will swear off pizza for life. But that will never happen because I love it so hehe and 99.9% of the time I eat it I'm fine.

I did that, too! I stopped eating pizza for like five years because I knew it upset my stomach! That did not last, though, I am back to eating it like it's going out of style! Yum! Oh, and I have been craving McDonald's, but what I sometimes do is order either cheeseburgers or Big Macs without the meat! I know it sounds weird, but it tastes great, is better for you, and emet-friendly!

lol- I order pizza without the cheese. Not only is it better calorically, but I don't get that nasty bloated feeling.

Harmonygirl- I have also ordered burgers with no meat before! It's good when you have a craving for fast food- but can't eat anything on the menu (I'm a vegetarian). But, I'm lucky that they have a fast food place in Canada called Harvey's, where you can order veggie burgers, and they are set up in such a way that you can watch them being grilled (yep- everything is flame broiled- nothing pre-packaged).

    Amber,

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that! I was a vegetarian from 1996-2001. I eat meat now, but sometimes the meatless fast food burgers just satisfy the craving! I think I will have one for dinner tonight, in fact!

I have never heard of a meatless burger. I'll bet a Big Mac with no meat is pretty good. I like that Big Mac sauce, lol.

You bet! I had to go there last night! I had 2 cheeseburgers no meat! MMMMMMM! The Big Macs are especially good that way, too.

I have order many a burger without meat or I get the "veggie" burger when they have them available. The "Big'N'Tasty" from McWhatever's (McDonald's) is excellent without meat!!! One time while moving, I ate like what felt like 10 of them in a week because they were on the $1 and we were trying to stay on a budget for meals.

McDonald's is not the best source of nutrition. The food (if you want to go on a stretch and call it that) is questionable, the handling and cooking methods are also pretty bad. Lastly, the oil in the vats are changed weekly or even longer. Is it any wonder your tummy hurts?

When I was a child and teen, my parents bought McDonald's all the time (or BK) for dinner. I was too young to realize that it made me sick, especially because I used to have severe IBS. I made the connectionover adecade ago when I went to my parents, and I felt great that day. They served me a Quarter Pounder w/ cheese, and I am not exaggerating - ten minutes after finishing it, I was in the bathroom. Yuck!
