I'm researching what options I have to FINALLY help myself

so, can you please help me out BIG time by answering my questions?

are you taking meds? whats the name? did you have side effects? are they expensive? are you satisfied? do you still have anxiety/ panic attacks? are you still afraid of v* still, or as much as you used to?

are you seeing a therapist? is it expensive? is it effective? are you still afraid of v*? are your anxiety/ panic attacks less frequent and milder?

have you done hypnosis? was it effective? are you satisfied? what happened? are you still afraid of v*? are your anxiety/ panic attacks less frequent and milder?

and are you living are more "normal" life with these treatments? are there any other ones that I'm missing? (besides exposure therapy... I'm NEVER doing that! lol)

thankyou so much in advance for answering the questions! you have nooo idea how much this will help me!

    Wintergreen,

Although manyt people will be glad to respond to you, in the end that won't really help you very much. What other people are doing in treatment is sort of irrelevant. Remember one important thing about this forum: if people were 100% better they wouldn't be here (except for me, of course, and a couple of others who are much better who drop in from time to time to help).

Besides, all the information you requested is in a series of sticky posts at the top of this thread: (the ones with the stick-pin icons). Read through ALL of them, including the exposure therapy info. You seem misinformed about exposure therapy, perhaps you're confusing it with "flooding" therapy, which, I agree, one should never do. But gradual exposure is very very gradual and begins with something as simple as saying or writing the word "vomit". Then perhaps looking at a picture of a drawn stick-man with a line coming out of the mouth. Or whatever is really easy to tolerate. It works upGRADUALLY (even 100 steps, if necessary)from there to watching videos of people vomiting and REALLY imagining that it's you. That's it. It doesn't end with you vomiting - that would be silly and unnecessary.

I guess I'm rambling on cuz I get distressed when people say they'd "never do exposure", then that's really the only way to overcome this phobia once and for all. It's not whatever you think it is!

Anyway...read all the info here. And don't pay too much attention to what works for others. Everyone is different.
