He was talking about his daughter being sick with a cold. He was talking about her sitting in the bathroom because of all of the phlem she needed to cough up, but she was so scared she was going to v* that she had to sit right in front of the toilet. He said "she is scared to death of v*" - obviously a young emet. I wanted to go talk to him about getting her help now, and tell him about my experience and how serious this phobia can be but I don't know him that well. What do you think I should do? I hate to think of another child suffering through this like we all have.

I say go for it- maybe print some literature about emet, how common it is, and how debilitating it can potentially be. Try to stay as casual as possible, and definitely speak to your experience with this phobia.

Wow, imagine if we could have all gotten help so young! I know it may be weird talking about this with someone you barely know- but as long as he knows that you mean well, and that you have his daughter's future in mind.

    Good luck

You can explain to him what his daughter cannot.

I say go for it as well! He'll probably be very thankful that someone who understands wants to help. We all could have benefited from that when we were younger!
Take small account of might, wealth and fame, for they soon pass and are forgotten. Instead, nurture love within you and and strive to be a friend to all. Truly, compassion is a balm for many wounds.
