on saturday night(its monday nite now) my gf and i ate at my sisters house


my gf and sister work together, she took a half day, my parents who live with her had to go to the dr so she had to go watch her kids who my parents usually watch





anyway she had the runs, at work and they continued i spoke with her around 430 she had the runs no v and then i spoke with my gf who was at work...i found out my sister called in sick for tommorow, i czllled my sister and it appears she v twice and has the runs...my nephew had the runs for about an hour yesterday and then he was fine she has no aches and pains and is acting like herself pretty much, no one else has it yet..


my questions..


1. do you think my gf and i were exposed when we ate there on saturday?


2. my sister is going back to work on wed, do you think my gf will get it and when can i relax about that? friday? saturday?


this sucks y know i was in such a good mood too..i got a raise today and now this i hate emat

Is there any chance they are all sick because they atethe same thing? Your sister and her son were sick, not your gf. I would really suspect food before I would suspect anything else - especially because they are sick at the same time.

almost everyone in my sisters house got it my sister seems to think its thru contact with her which dont really think is true


my sister has 3 sons the oldest was the one who had the runs on sunday so far he has had nothing else her other two sons have gotten it my parents have it now as does my brother in law (yes way too many people live in that house) but my brother in laws grandmother and his mother live there as well and as far as i know they are fine


from what i hear from my sister who feels much better its very fast moving i am still not convinced that my gf and i are safe especially because my sister and gf work together..my sister is not at work today but she will be tomorrow and they have desks right next to each other my parents got it within hours of being around my sister my sisters husband only has the runs thus far

i am freaking out my gf is fine she is eating pancakes at work...she keeps saying whats the sense of worrying...i would love to be non emet for a day...im bothered because this has happened before and it just seems it gonna happen again back in aprl i causght something from my family and in may my gf did im nauseuos but its probably anxiety please tel me what you think guys

Hi i am so sorry for your anxiety but it's normal for us i would be exactly the same. Im getting confussed with the dates lol. how long ago was it that you were in contact with your sister? No doubt you ashed your hands good which will reduce the chance you will get it anyway! Did you use their bathroom?

i know the whole situation is confusing


i have not seen my sister since saturday..my gf and i had dinner there..ithat my sister made i used my moms bathroom in her basement apartment


my nephew had the runs sunday morning


my sister got sick yesterday morning


my other two nephews and my parents got sick last nite/early morning


my brother in law got sick this morning


thats all i know of right now


but my gf works with my sister and she saw her yesterday when she first got sick and will be around her the rest of the week

I think because your sister has already been exposed she shouldnt catch it now. It seems that it has been a while since you were incontact with teh virus. I think althou may be wrong that you shoudl be in the clear, hope all stays well, it is lucky that your gf isn't an emet I loveb your attitude i would love to be like that!

im just really concerned my gf will catch it because she caught it from my sister a few months ago and she was so sick and i left and stayed at a motel thats how bad my emet is

Hey Emily,

I'm sorry there seems to be a bug going around, and times like
this are always worrisome for us, but it sounds like most of the people
have just had the runs for awhile. Have you had the runs or is it just
that you are going a lot (but its normal)? If its the runs, then maybe
you got it some, but it may just be that. Just lay low for awhile and
use the br as much as you need (heck its better going out the other
way) and it will pass.

Were the family members sick for very long or just a day or so?

alot of people vomited..my mom my dad, 2/3 of my nephews...i have not spoken to them since so i have no idea who else i have gone 5 times today it was not the runs but not normal..my sister got sick at 11 am and was better by 6 she went to sleep and was uninterrupted it seems to be lastin10-12 hours





i am so scared my gf will get it from working with my sister tomorrow and the rest of the week

I would just tell your g/f to let you know if she feels sick and if it makes you feel confortable, avoid her for a while till you know it's all passed. You're not doomed. Things will work out for you, it sounds as if it's working it's way around a close family and co-workers probably won't get it, esopecially if you gf is careful.

Unless you were eating off the same forks or they were coughing or vomiting on your food and you washed your hands, chances are you won't get it....also if the first person got it Sunday and it is now Tuesday night, chances are, you're not going to get it, it's been 4 days!


I wish you luck and the worrying will only make you feel worse. Trya nd relax, as long as you feel fine now, than you'll still feel fine in 25 seconds....take it in 10 minutes intervals if you have to....I feel fine...i still feel fine in 10 minutes...until you relax.

Also, if it makes you feel better, I spent boxing day with my gf's family and ate there and spent the night and the next day her niece and nephew got sick and vomited...one got sick the 27th, the other the 28th....then my gf spent time with them again on the 31st and neither of us got sick or even her brother and mom and dad. We all stayed okay it was just between the two kids....they had dirarreah too....take deep breaths, little bits of time and concentrate on the fact that the odds of you getting sick are really slim.

Oh right, you don't have boxing day inthe states!! it's a Canadian and British thing...day after Christmas celebrated, usually just by taking the day off. I watched the first episode of the third season of the L Word two days ago...SOOO exiting!! i love that show! I'm 21 and my gf and I have been together for alomst 5 years.
