Oh, no! I just got a call from my husband at work. He's had diarrhea all morning and feels like he's going to v*. I hate this, and I hate winter! I spend the entire fall and winter worrying about one of us getting sick. When do you think he became contagious? I've not had any close contact with him since last night. I didn't even talk to him this morning, but he did kiss me on the cheek as he left for work. Do you think he was contagious last night, if he began symptoms this morning? If he starts v*, I dread going home tonight.

I am so sorry to hear that!!! My husband had it 2 weeks ago and I worried, too. If you haven't come in contact with his saliva, feces or vomit today, then you should be fine. WHen my husband got it he was at work, too and he had kissed me and all of the kids before he left and we didn't get it. Just spray your bathroom, kitchen, doorknobs, etc. with Lysol!

Thanks for the reassurance, Donna! He can't go home yet because he has a client coming in (Can you imagine? If I was coming down with a sv I would call the client to reschedule!). When he does go home, I'm going to tell him to go straight to our bedroom and only use our bathroom. We don't have kids, so I don't have to worry about him coming in contact with them - just me.

Becca I think you'll be fine. You'll get thru this and then you won't have to worry for a while - that's always a relief for me.

Well, I survived the weekend, I think. My husband never
did v* which was a great relief to me, but I did keep him contained to
his room until the d* stopped. He was running a fever, so I'm
almost positive it was the sv. By yesterday afternoon, he had no
symptoms, so it was about a 24 hour thing.

Today, I've bleached and Lysol'd everything that I think he came
in contact with. We flipped the mattress on the bed, and I'm
washing all the bed linens and the mattress pad. I'm also not
going to use our master bathroom until the housekeeper comes to clean -
I'm just going to use the hall bath.

I hope I'm in the clear - he came down with it on Friday.
I think I have a couple more days of worrying before I feel safe.
What I told my husband, though, was that I could handle - and wouldn't
even mind - having the sv he has with no v*. At least I would
feel I was safe for a few more years. (My sv's tend to run in
cycles of about 5 years, and I'm due for one, unfortunately - my last
was in 2000, before that 1995, etc.). Is this crazy?
