    Hi all!

I'm pretty new here and have a question in regards to carrying the sv*. Can someone be a carrier of the sv* even if they don't show any symptoms and pass it on to someone else? I know that is the case for other illnesses but am unsure about carrying the sv*. I just can't stop worrying that my 5 year old daughteris either going to get it again (just had it back in November) or bring it home to me. I just wish this winter would fly by and we could get into the spring/summer season. I think there is a lull right now since January is somewhat inactive for sv*, but of course February is right around the corner and is peak time so I'm freaking out!

Thanks to anyone who can help!

I know I have carried many other viruses home to family members and passed things on to friends, so I see no reason why you could not pass on a SV to someone without acutally showing "symptoms".

I dont know. If you read how it is contracted, like CDC, it says you are contagious once symptoms begin. It is through the v* and d* that the virus is shed so...I am not too sure that you can be a carrier. Anythings possible I guess.

I think if you are like some of us emets, who are very good at not letting ourselves v* and do everything to prevent it and have gone for years without v*, we may very well have carried sv's to others without even knowing it unfortunately!!

The only way I think someone can be a "carrier" of Norwalk is to have it on their hands and then transmit it through a handshake, food, or by touching communal items (ie. doorknobs, elevator buttons, pens at the doctor's office).

How do we know what surfaces have been "contaminated"? I know that question might sound silly... but I'm honestly curious.

I think that if you have come in contact with it--have the germs on your hands--then prepare food or somehting for someone before you wash your hands, you would certainly pass it on that way, but I don't think you would actually HAVE the virus in your body, not be sick and then pass it along.
