Hi everyone, on saturday night I went to my boyfreinds house and didnt get home until 1.30am. I parked my car just round the corner from my house in a parking bay as i usually do. When my dad got up to go to work at 6am, he noticed my doors were wide open. Someone had broken into my car and bent the door really bad. The door doesnt close now because its so bent, they have also smashed in the whole drivers side, its all dented! I had some coats, shoes, usual junk in my car and they had pulled it all out and threw it all in the road and bushes!

Later on my mum calls my neighbour to see if they heard anything and it turns out there car was done too! We went out to walk round the eastate and nearly everyones cars had been damaged! The police all turned up and said they had over 60 reports of vandalism! Some people had windows smashed, doors ripped off, bonnets smashed, tyres slashed etc. You wanna know what the worse thing is, they didnt steal anything except a few CDs from one person. Some of the cars had sat nav, subs, dvd players and they didnt take anything! Im so upset that people can be so mean, they havent gained anything from this, its just plain spitefull!

My poor little Nissan Micra is a complete write off and the insurance company wont pay out because i only have third party, fire and theft. It is undrivable :'( I have spoken to a breakers yard and they are going to buy it off me for scrap I have an alarm on my car and it didnt go off. The police said a number of cars had alarms that didnt go off, how did they do it?!

There were scientific services vans everywhere while they were trying to get prints but because it was raining they couldnt get anything. I really hope these people get caught but i know they will get away with it. Nothing like this ever happens where i live, i live right on the edge of town, there is only one road into our estate so they must have been on foot. So many cars were done in such a short amount of time, it must have been a huge gang.

Im so heart broken about my car. My family think im being stupid because its only metal but its more than that. My car is my freedom, without it i cant get anywhere, especially with my phobia, it helped so much knowing my car was there and i could escape at anytime if needed. I just cant understand how people could do such a thing, some people have no morals whatsoever :'(

That sucks, I am so sorry to hear that. Not that this is a good thing, but at least you weren't the only one it happened to, which shows it was random and no one was after you in particular.

Sign me right up. Over the past few years, I have made the discovery that the people who you would think are LESS likely to be jerkholes (little old ladies, people with young children, priests, etc.) are at times the biggest ones! Arg!

Sorry about your car Holly- although it seriously sucks that your car was trashed, just think of how many people get into wrecks while they are in the car. At least you were not present and are unharmed

Is there a possibility of saving to get another car in the near future? Nothing fancy, just something to get you from point A to point B?

Wow! And NOBODY HEARD ANYTHING?! With that much vandalism, that's pretty impressive. I hate to say it, but you are probably right when you say "they won't get caught".. because they probably won't. However, you never know, when people do things like that, it is pretty hard to keep it to themselves. SO hopefully, they will tell someone and that person will notify the proper authorities... then unless it's gang related, chances are the everyone's name will be leaked.

Until then, be thankful that you weren't hurt or targetted. Heck, we should be thankful that nobody was injured and that there was no insult to injury by stealing the other valuable stuff from the cars...

Hope you can get a decent car soon... I TOTALLY know what you mean about loss of freedom!

The officer that tried to take prints from my car told me they think they might know who it is, but they cant do anything if there is no evidence. Even if they did have evidence chances are they wont get done for it. My mum had her purse stolen from work when she worked in a pub. Some one in the pub witnessed the person going into the back and even identified the person in a parade. The theif attempted to use my mums credit cards the same night they were stolen and was caught doing so on cctv. The person that did it is well known to the police, yet the person got off with no penalty what so ever. The legal system in this country sucks

My car didn't get trashed, but I hear you on the frustration. I don't have a car now either! I am waiting on a part to fix it that won't come until February!

I hear you on the loss of freedom.
