Tihs past week I went to visit my friend in British Columbia (I live in Ontario). Usually a plane trip is enough to throw me into a funk for days before hand and for the duration of my trip.

This time I not only travelled on flight WITHOUT my Xanax, but I had no anxiety before the flight and didn't feel the need to check and monitor those around me on the flight! This is the first time EVER.

It's hard for all of you, because you don't know me, but this is MONUMENTAL in my recovery as my fears mostly lie around others being sick. I actually felt like everyone else. I can't tell you how important it was for me tofeel that I had nothing to fear!

I am strong and empowered! Look out emet, I'm going to beat you!

Wow, impressive! That's a long flight too, geez!! And without your Xanax? I can't even imagine it..I know I used to do it and be ok, but ever since I have been on Xanax I can't even imagine setting foot in an airport without a full bottle. Good job!!

That is totally awesome! Congrats on enjoying your trip and surviving your flight. I am still not able to travel without my dramamine, but I think that has to do with a physical inner ear problem.

Congrats!!!!!!!! I'm getting ready to fly to Tasmania in less than a month, and I hope I do as well as you did! (my fear is similar to yours- it centres around other people being ill).

Just think about this the next time you are facing emet-related stress. If you can fly without pills and not be anxious (which is HUGE)- imagine what else you can do!

    Congrats!!

I have never gone on meds for my emet, mostly because I didn't know I could. This Xanax thing sounds great but I would feel weak taking them.I used to take like 6 gravol a day, every day and I only weighed like 140 pounds but have sinced stopped sinceI felt like I was addicted. I still can't take a gravol now no matter how sick I feel. Is that weird?

    Congratulations.

The thing I hate most about flying is I'm never able to fall asleep on long flights. I remember this one time we flew to Hawaii and it was about a 9 hour trip (From Ohio to L.A and then from L.A to Hawaii) I didn't sleep a WINK during the trip, and that always makes me feel sick when we finally land somewhere. I ALWAYS have stomach problems with I travel it's weird.

    Anyway...GOOD JOB!

    Crystalmom,

We landed in Calgary and drove 3 hours to Fernie, where my friend is living. They also took us to Banff.

I love that area...it is SO beautiful! I plan to have my next wedding () in Banff, in December. I just need him to propose...lol!!! I live about 2 hours north of Calgary. So, we were pretty close. Too bad we hadn't have known, could have met for a coffee at the airport!
