Hey guys. I just found out this morning that my cousin is going to Iraq. He's been in the Army 2 years this summer. He joined because he wanted to go, well he just got orders that he will be leaving sometime between August and October. He will be 20 by then. Anyhow his Mom (my Aunt) is worried sick already and he hasn't even left yet (can't say I blame her) she's only foudn out last night so I'm sure w/ time acceptance will follow but it's still hard and harder I think once he's over there. So, if you dont' mind, a few prayers for his (and everyone else over there or going over there) saftey and for comfort for his Mom (and all the Moms' and Dad's of people over there) I'd appreceiate it as would his Mom.

I know that I sleep better at night knowing that brave men and women like your cousin are defending every person's right for a free life, even though it's a tough road ahead. Everyone deserves to lead a life of freedom and your cousin is helping to change history. Everyone's opinion on the war differs, but the bottom line is, he chose to do something that many people don't have the guts to do. For that you should be proud. If anything should happen to him, at least, you know that he is doing this for our safety and for the children of Iraq who will bwe able to experience rights and freedoms that they never knew existed. I lost 2 friends who died in Iraq serving our country, and I couldn't have been more proud of them. You and your family are in my prayers.

Thanks, Babygap. We are all proud of him for putting himself on the line like this. He told his Mom when she started crying that he joined during war time and knew he'd be called. So it's not like he'd be going against his will or anything it's just scary, as you obviously know having lost friends. Thanks for your prayers!

Although I am very much against the war- I have the utmost respect for the men and women who are there and trying to do their job to the best of their abilities. It's not their fault they are being sent there- so you can't fault them for it.

My cousin was actually just discharged from the American Navy a few weeks ago- honourable discharge, he just wanted to get on with his life and finish med school. The navy really allowed him to get a lot of experience (he worked as a surgical assistant), which is a real asset to him now that he is in school. Everytime he was deployed somewhere (he joined in 2000, so right before 9/11), we would be on pins and needles until he was back home. I hope your cousin makes it home safe and sound, just like mine did

I have a childhood friend that is over in Iraq right now. It is scary to know that he is there, but I am proud to know all that he is doing for me and our country. I haven't heard from him in a while, but he has emailed me whilehes been there...I hope he is ok...but anyway be proud and I sure you are, but he is a brave person and i commend him for going over there and fighting for what he believes in.
