My daughter was diagnosed with a s*v* yesterday. She had v* and d* all day. From yesterday from noon til 11pm last night. This morning she is up, and eating some crackers and drinking some water. My husband said she was up off and on having small sips of water all night. So, she seems better.

    My question is this....

When did she become infected and from what point was she contagious? I had kissed her and shared some water with her the night before... and now I am paranoid! I was n* all day yesterday, but I know it was just my nerves. If I were to have it, would I have shown signs already? Or will it show it in me a day or two later?

I am just really scared... my tummy is in knots, and I just get scared that I may get it (or have it).

However, my husband thinks him and I already had it. My son v* once on Friday morning, and that was it. But my husband had d* Saturday and I was had some d* and n* Saturday as well. So he thinks we already had it. I am still so scared though!

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks - Lorrie

It does sound like the two of you may have already had it on Saturday.
If you didn't though, and were to get it from your dd, I would guess that
you would be ill within 48 hours of her v* and d*. But it truly does
sound like you've already had it, and if that's the case you should be
fine. And now that all of you have had it, that nasty bug should be on
its way out of your house!

I agree, you may havealready had it.

    To answer your questions...

Incubation is GENERALLY 24-48 hours but can be up to 72 hours. Its debatable on when you actually 'become contagious.' CDC says when you start to show symptoms. Also CDC (centres of disease control) says that the virus can be shed in the stool for up to 2 weeks. I am sure not as bad when the person actually has the active symptoms of the virus.

Hope you guys are on the mend.
