Well, i was hoping for a little peace of mind,it seems like i'm reading so many posts about sv's going around!!! I'm in Hawaii and I haven't heard of anything going around yet, at work or in my kids schools, anyone else notice that no sv's are going around in their areas?? Maybe it would be best for me to stay away for a while, i'm having major anxiety about this!!!! Today my daughter was holding hands with a classmate today who went home early bvecause she had a tummy ache and felt dizzy, my daughter had an sv before that started that way, i'm praying that this girl isn't coming down with "it". Usualyy I hear of sv's from February through May here, but I feel like I wish my kids would just get it and get it over with already, so I can relax for a while!!!! Thanks for letting me vent.

    Sheri,

Though I understand your anxiety and understand a need to maybe get away from this board to get your mind off of things, maybe you can just check in on the board from time to time in the general section. Also, now is the time when you need support most, so I would hate for you to not have any support. I am sure your daughter is going to be okay. Try really hard not to obsess. (Although I know it is really hard.. ) Hang in there, k?

Well, I am in Canada, and the only thing i have heard that is going around here is cold like flues. I do know one family that came down with a sv, luckily I had no contact with them, or anything.

I do understand too, about maybe noot coming to the boards. Sometimes knowledge is power, and others...not so much. For example, I never knew that food poisoning is actually contagious until I read it on here. That one threw me for a loop.

BUT, I find that there is so much supoort and kindness here, that I would rather be here, and know and support everyone, than to not be here. Know what I mean???

I didn't think you could get a SV in hawaii!!!! hehehe! I guess I just veiw is as paradise and nothing bad can happen. Well, I live in PA and I have not heard of any outbreaks (KNOCK ON WOOD) You will be totally okay as long as you wash your hands and take the obvious precautions. How old is your daughter? does she know what to do to stay healthy? So, do you guys have xmas trees there or do you use palm trees...hahaha! I'm serious! We have all this snow on the round 2 weeks before xmas and its probably like, whta, 85 degrees there? I am so jealous!

I'm in Phoenix, Arizona and haven't heard anything yet. I read the paper almost every day and occasionally watch the news (too depressing at times, don't watch it much). I don't know if we're gonna get it late this year or if we'll be lucky and have a mild SV season this year. It's kinda hard to imagine being sick when the sky is SOOO blue and it's almost 70 degrees!! I bet Hawaii is beautiful! I'm like the only human being that I know who's never been there, but I have an aunt who lives ther---she loves it.

Unfortunatly sv's are here like I said about Feb -March and July too. everyone in my family got one in July ( 2000), So summer isn't safe either, but I still feel safer in the summer anyway. We are just like a big city here, there's aabout a million people here crowded on this little island, can you imagine?

Bead girl, my daughter is 8, she only washes her hands if i'm around and I make her, ya know, kids are just like that. We actually do have real christmas trees, I tried the palm tree thing but my ceiling wasn't high enough!! lol It's been high 60's at night and low 80's in the day, great weather, although humidy can be horrrible a lot.

Crystal, I hear you, the support here is why I come, I have no one else to talk to about my worries, and you guys always make me feel calmer and more positive about a situation.

Charlene, I hope Arizona stays sv free for you there! *knocks on wood*. This virus has to give some of us a break right?

Thanks so much for all your replies, even though I don't know you guys, it's like I do, know what I mean? Thank you for caring and being there for everyone here.

Well, now, this morning I heard on the news that there's like 30% of kids out of school and how some schools may even close, have a "sick day"! S**t!!!!!!!! They were talking mostly about respiratory illnesses though. JEEZ!!
