I cannot describe how sickened I was to watch the cashier at McDonalds who was handling money grab our cup with her fingers INSIDE the cup and hand it to my husband. I didn't make a scene and I drank from it but DAMN - I was so grossed out!!!I pointed it out to my husband who made some lewd comment about where her hands have probably been - yeah, I needed to hear that. Of course the emet in me only worried about did she have a sv germ on her!Ewwww! I don't really mind going out to eat but when I can see them doing things that's when it bothers me. I think they shouldn't handle money and then get your food for you.

You're right, she should not have done that!!

I've been seeing alot that fast food workers, the ones making the food, wear gloves now. A couple of years ago they didn't, so that makes me feel a little better about going out to eat, especially fast food.

You will probably be fine with this incident though

Why didn't you just ask (someone else) for a different cup? Say there's something on it or say it's leaking etc.

And what the **** are you doing at Mickey D's? Family-friendly, yes.
Phobia-friendly, no. Even though they appear to have some food safety
systems in place that other restaurants don't.

RE: the incident, I'd probably burn some calories worrying about it if
she had just finished changing a diaper or making hamburger patties
from raw meat but if not the odds are in your favor.

I was at Burger King a few months ago (my husband loves their burgers, but I don't care for it) and went in the restroom to wash my hands. While I was in there, one of the workers came right out of the bathroom stall and by-passed the sink the completely. I could not believe that she did not wash her hands! I mean, even if you're not emet, you should wash your hands after using the restroom! I was so upset that I could not eat anything after that. My husband got mad at me, but I didn't care. That is just gross! I probably should have reported her, but I doubt it would have done any good!

I've been to SONIC and tried almost everything on the menu. There's NOTHING there that I don't like. The whole old-fashioned drive-in with the servers on roller skates/blades is pretty cool too. Happy Place

How funny that the poststarted ya'all talking about fast food places. I rarely do fast foodwhen we are at home but it seems as if we are always on the road and my husband and son wantfast food. I prefer the drive thru so I slim the chances of seeing anything that might put me on "high alert" (ha) but once again being on the road means the dreaded public bathroom stop - oh how I hate them!Sonic is good, I like them too.Wehave Steak n Shake right next to the house and their hamburgers and shakes are fabulous but the fries they can keep.

I'm a vegetarian so don't eat the hamburgers or anything but sometimes I do just get the craving for the chips and hey as long as its not an everyday thing it's fine to treat yourself! And sorry you were grossed out honey.

That happened to me in Target last week. The server took my money and put it in the register, then took the cup off the stack and handed it to me with her fingers inside it! I proceeded to drop it on the floor and say, "Oh, sorry, I'll just take another one," and grabbed one off the top of the stack myself. It worked great and I recommend this strategy to you if this ever happens again in a place where you can reach the cups!

DH and I went to Dairy Queen one time, and orded a brownie sunday, and the worker took our cash, then made the sunday and put the brownie on top without washing her hands, or using gloves. I didn't say anything, and I was furious at myself for not saying anything. Next time something like that happens, I will be asking for my money back! I don't know how some poeple can be so disgusting!!

The worst is when a restaurant post their health department score and all of the points subtracted were for sanitary reasons. I once went to a McDonald's to grab a quick drink when I was travelling and the health department deducted points for failure to wash hands and not properly storing food. I walked out. I mean, I used to wait tables and the health department can be strict about odd things, but come on - the manager should be making sure the employees are storing food properly for goodness sakes.
