Really late last night, my cousin and I decided to go get a sandwich from an all night gas station/convenient store/ deli... they are very popular around here where I live.

Anyway, everytime Ive been in there, its always very clean. Bathrooms are pretty clean too. Well, we were paying for our food at the counter, and then I remembered I wanted a drink. So I ran quick to the back of the store to the refridgerated section. Well... as I was running through this particular spot.. I smelled it. It was overpowering. I knew right away what it was. I looked back and noticed a yellow sign on the floor saying caution wet floor or something. UGHHHH...I walked through there. So I went another way back to the counter. But still. Then I felt like it was on my shoes and I dont think the guys working there last night did a good job of cleaning it. The boys working looked like they were all of 20 years old. It was probably a quick clean up job and nothing else used.

UGHHHHH It SICKENS me just thinking about it. Then I was paranoid going back into my house after that. I tried rubbing my shoes in the snow before I went in. I feel like I now dragged a stomach virus into my apartment or something. Do you guys think I did????

Oh no.. Ill be worried now for a few days.

Here's what I used to to, and people thought I was totally nuts!!!

Whenever I would have an incident similar to yours, I would either just leave my shoes in the parking lot OR buy some bleach, pour some on the pavement, step in the bleach puddle to sanitize the bottom of my shoes. I have also kept a can of lysol in my car and would spray the bottom of my shoes. Worked for me.......

That's not so crazy...the humane society I volunteer at has "bleach mats" outside the doors of all the kennels - they ask you to step on it before and after you are in the kennels. I've been thinking of inventing some sort of doormat that sanitizes shoes before people enter your house. Wouldn't that be great?? if only I was scientific...

I think CaliforniaGirl has the right idea.

I have on rare occasion, used a disposable oven pan filled with bleach and water for disinfecting shoes.

I know the feeling, I ALMOST stepped in some of "IT" while I was walking to my computer classes last week, I just BARELY missed it. Even by the time I got back to the train station (8 hours later) "IT" was still sitting there. You think someone would have cleaned it up or something. Anyway, Mjewell,If you invent any of those bleach mats for houses please let me know, I'll take three of them! LoL!
