Okay, I have good news. My mother is probably coming home from the hospital tomorrow if she continues as she is now. She is walking with the aid of her physical therapist and she does eat, although not much. She is keeping it down, however. She had to have open gall bladder surgery, which takes a longer recovery timethen the other kind, which is just a small incision. They say it should take about 4 to 6 weeks for her to be up to normal activity level.

I am worried about the d* after this kind of surgery. What I wanted to ask the people on this site who have had their gall bladder removed and had d* is this: When you say d* do you mean the type you get when you have a sv. Did you feel sick and have to run to the bathroom every 5 minutes? Or was it just watery, soft serve, but not constant? I would feel a bit better if it was the second type. I wouldn't feel as anxious if I didn't see my mother having to go every 5 minutes.

If she does have to go every 5 minutes, I will get through it. I just have to remember that she is not really SICK, but getting better every day.

Anyway, please let me know what you meant by d* in this case. Thanks so much, everyone, for your support. I DO feel better knowing other people have fears like mine.
    I must face my fear.
I will allow it to pass over and through me.
When it has gone past I will turn my inner eye to see it\'s path.
Where it has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. -Dune

I don't know about what kind of d* she will have but I know she is getting better, so either way, she isn't sick. Just be glad that she is getting better.
    I love Sam

I don't feel comfortable telling you how my gallbladder experience was since you don't want to be misled and each situation is different. I know that you posted yesterday that we should not give false hope, so just be glad that your mom is recovering and no matter what she will hopefully continue to get better each day.

    You are right, gubba.

All I can do is deal with the situation when it comes. My mother will be home soon enough, and I will find out how she is doing by being around her and seeing for myself.
