Hello...I have had emets for like almost 4 years now. It sucks so much. Lately I have been really anxious and can't sleep because of it, and it makes everything that much worse. I'm scared I will get due to lack of sleep because it weakens your immune system. I hate this emets. I have been trying to take it on and now when I feel sick that Im really fine. I usually rely on my mom or boyfriend to help me, but lately I have pushed them alway in attempts to do it myself. I rally wish he was here right now, since its 4 am and I never have problems sleeping with him, infact hes like a natural sleeping aid for me. He just relaxes me, and I wish I knew how on my own, but I don't. I need to learn meditation, but I dont know where to go for that. ANYWAYS I want to know what kind of anxiety meds you are on, because i dont take meds so im scared they will make me v*. I dont even take pain meds. I was thinking of talking to my therapist about going on axiety meds...but i know they are just depression meds...so that kind of makes me worried too...i dont want to be someone else...im not depressed. Advice..opioions please. I dont kow what to do, BUT I REALLY NEED SLEEP
    I love Sam

Hun, I'm not depressed either, but I'm on prozac, which has really helped a lot. I'm even thinking of upping my doseage.. as I still get anxious,,HOWEVER, I haven't had a full-blown or uncontrolled panic attack since a week or so after beginning the meds.

I have a book from the library called "Meditation made easy", and it's pretty good. I also have some REALLY relaxing cd's.

Last night I was having an anxious time.. and decided to roll over on my side and "try to meditate".. b/c I wasn't tired but really wanted to fall asleep (seeing I had to be up early and it was 1 am as it was.) So I closed my eyes, and just listened to music.. and focused on whatever it was my mind wanted to... and well.. then I woke up this morning.. lol.. I totally just fell asleep even though I wasn't tired.

I would advise you to talk to your doc. about an anti-anxiety med...i take xanax...a very low dose...it just really calms you down...i love to take it at night before i am going to go to sleep....it just relaxes me enough to fall off to sleep without laying there thinking about emet or anything else bothering me....it's great stuff...if taken in low dosage...i can take it at work...or whenever....if you take higher doses it can make you quite drowsy so be careful of that....I always carry it in my purse with me...so i always feel comfortable knowing i have it in case i need it for any reason...it's quick acting too.....it only takes about 10-15 min to start working....I find that alot of people say it's addicting...i have been on it for a year....and while i don't take it every day...sometimes not even 2-3 a month...it just depends......if i am having a bad day or week or month.....Just try it...no other side effects at all...never any nausea or v with it at all.....Nothing....i promise you will like it.

I agree with both posters, I take Lexapro and Xanax and I feel 100% better. When I take a Xanax I feel like I could do anything!

Im with everyone else. I am on zoloft and I take xanax for the "bad" days. I have never gotten sick frome them but my sex drive has diminished a little! I kinda want to stop taking this stuff cause I want to enjoy sex again, but I also don't want the crushing chest pains! Always talk to you doc.... Does he/she know about your phobia? I told my doc and guess what... HE'S AN EMET TOO!!! (He's on paxil) I love my doc because he TOTALLY gets me!

I do exactly what Kate does. I take xanax in low doses when I need it. It makes all the difference. I have been on it for years. I take it when necessary. Sometimes 1 a month, sometimes 1 a day, especially this time of year. I know it would help you. Without a doubt talk to your doctor.

I have carried a bottle of Xanax around for 14 years. It really helps during a panic. I only take it when things get really bad and it calms me some to feel like if I have to throw up maybe I can handle it. All other meds. like anti-depression and such make me feel sick so that just adds to my anxiety! Honestly just having the Xanax "in case" helps.

I was on Paxil for quite some bit of time...when I first started taking it...there were a few days where I felt alittle bit sick to my stomach...but I never V* and the feeling soon went away...and the panic attacks came less and less. I had to stop taking it b.c. I coudlnt afford it anymore. I wish I was still on it
