I take Lexapro and Xanax for my anxiety. I believe all phobias are a form of anxiety disorder, so it really helps. I feel very calm all the time - I take the Lexapro every day and take Xanax when I am in a panic. Like if I feel sick I take a Xanax and it REALLY helps. Usually takes my nausea and my anxiety away within 20 mins.

Unfortunately there's no sure fire medication just FOR Emetophobia. But there are anti-anxiety meds available to help ease our symptoms. In my adult life, i have used Xanax, Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft throughout a span of 12 years...NOT at the same time LOL!!! I found xanax to be helpful for the nerves, but THAT med IS addictive so i don't use it if at all posible!! The others (which are mainly anti-depressants but can be great for anxiety as well) are not addictives, so they can be used for long term use. They really DO help control the Emet along with the anxiety attacks and OCDs that come with it :-) Now if you don't wanna go the "prescription chemical" route...you can always try charcoal capsules (which i never leave home without) or ginger capsules...they can ease or even erase symptoms of nausea (as well as other belly disorders like indigestion, hearburn, diarrhea, or fullness from over eating!! :-)

No meds for emetophobia as far as I know....A lot of people are on stuff like Lexapro, wellbutrin, zoloft, xanax, paxil, and other antidepressant/antianxiety meds. Too bad thought, huh?
