Hi everyone old and new, I havent posted on a long time... I try to
stay away, you know? But I still have emet. I just wanted to share that
I started a new version of Xanax this year called Xanax XR and it is
"extended release" meaning it works for 24 hours. I am on 2 mg right
now, considering upping it. Thing with drugs is I never know if it
works or not unless theres a trigger. Well there was a trigger today,
someone said they were sick the other day, and I had a panic attack. It
was not a full panic attack, but my mind was racing and I did feel like
crying and I was thinking irrational thoughts (like quitting my job for
example) but I FELT the panic being swatted away.. it was strange. It
was so easy to get distracted from it and STOP panicking. I was able to
rationalize better and cope better. I called my psych immediately to
report this, but I still think I need to be on more if I am to stop
panicking completely, and even then I dont know if that would stop it
if I were actually thinking I was sick. Anyway, I thought i would share
it with everyone, because if you have not tried perscription anti
anxiety medication yet, or you havent found a good one, you might wanna
give it a try. It does NOT help OCD or depression though, which are
also some problems I have right now
but anyway, Ive never had any side effects from it either other than a
little bowel change if I stop or start or change the dosage of the
meds, and its not very noticable. Hope everyone is doing good and has a
good holiday!!!!

Hi Chibi,

I also tried the extended xanax. Just like you said it was hard to tell if it was working or not. I didn't have any attacks that day so I guess it worked. My doctor gave me about 7 to try and I think I still have 5. I don't think it is for me b/c my attacks are much better controlled. I still am on xanax when I need it and it is WONDERFUL!!! I really wish the extend would have been around about 10 years ago when my attacks are daily. Good luck and let me know what you decide.

Murphy
