So I work at an poolside bar at a major hotel resort and my hubby works there too, anyways so I get off at 4:00 and he started at 3:00 and he sometimes has to bring my son to the bar to wait for me to finish. A girl that works there has been complaining of fever and nausea, and tells me her sister and boyfriend caught this virus from her and have fever and v*, well, she goes over to my son who was sitting at one of the tables playing his game boy and goes right in his face and starts talking to him!! So I go " aren't you sick! and she goes "Oh yeah" and gets up , and I said please stay away from him, not in a mean way, but you could tell I was slightly irritated! So I just said Sorry!! I know my co-workers think i'm a freak but I don't need this sh**t around my son, ya know. I never get close to anyone when their talking to me, because theirs always someone at work that's sick and of course it seems like i'm the only one worried about catching stuff. I feel like i'm the freak here for being this way, I mean a lot of people tell me you can't always avoid germs, but I think I do a pretty damn good job! I used to act like everyone else, and pretend I wasn't a germ freak, but now I don't care anymore! Thanks for reading, just needed to vent.

I'm with you---I pretty much don't care what people think of me being cautious ( and that goes for my hubby and daughter too)--I will protect my family from this damn SV*!! Someday they'll realize that I'm just keeping them safe. And as for everyone else around me, oh well, my family's health is more important than what people think of me. I've had to hear alot of s**t about how "sanitary" I am. UUUGGHHHH!!!!!

Nothing freakish about this. The food codes are as plain as the nose on
my face....... Ill workers in food & bev are required to tell the
person in charge. They aren't supposed to be working ill! I've worked
at a resort too. There really isn't any task you can do at a hotel
while ill except for maybe pick up trash outside.

UGH! Co-workers never think about other people. This entire week (since Wed) a co-worker of mine has v* at work. It's so gross. I work in the food industry, in a small deli. I deliver the food, but she actually makes the food! She has Strep Throat, and I think she may have caught a virus too. My boss asked her if she wanted to go home, but she stayed! Making food! UGH!!!! I must have washed my hands 50 times! So I know how you feel. Carrie
