Last night I ate some ravioli with sauce and meatballs. When I was
almost finished I realized that the meatballs tasted a bit odd, not bad
but different than usual. I didn't think much of it until about four hours
later. I was putting up our Christmas tree and had to RUN to the
restroom with horrible d*. Afterwards I felt better, but my stomach was
a little crampy - gas, I thought. An hour or so later, after lots of
cramping, I had d* again. Nothing since then, although my stomach
still hurts, like gas pains, and I can't beleive I'm saying this, but I've
been passing as much gas all morning as my husband does! LOL! I
never got even the slightes bit n* though. Not that it makes any
difference now, but does that sound like FP, especially since the
meatballs tasted funny? Or maybe they just didn't agree with me?

I've had food poisoning twice, and both times I had severe nausea and vomitting, along with diarrhia. What happened to you sounds like what happens to me when I eat canned peas, lol. Could just be that they didnt agree with you, or there was a new spice in them that your body isn't accustomed to.

If you had diarrhia twice, they're out of your system so I wouldn't worry

I got something similar once after eating a hamburger for lunch in a nice restaurant while on vacation in Las Vegas. It gave me awful diarhhea and stomach cramps for two days, but no nausea. I never wanted to stray to far from a bathroom. It is my biggest memory from the trip unfortunately!I always wondered whether I had food poisoning of some sort or a touch of Ecoli or something. I have also had a similar reaction to eating in authentic Spanish restaurants. There must be some spice that they use or some oil/lard they cook with that I am very sensitive to. I would guess it was the meatballs. If they tasted a bit funny who knows what was wrong with them!I hope you continue to feel better today.

It could be. There's different degrees of these things. Remember "food
poisoning" is often a blanket term when you read about it online used to describe any kind of food borne
illness whether it's bacteria from undercooked food, viruses passes
from ill food handlers, chemical contamination and so on. Hundreds if
not thousands of possible causes & effects. It doesn't mean it's
going to be severe or cause anything more than a few episodes of the
    runs and some cramps.

Lately the vegetarian baked beans that I like have been causing the
runs directly after eating them. Sometimes eating things too quickly...
for me, especially dairy causes this. Usually only D* once from things
like that. Nothing to worry about. D* happens. Take some pepto.

I took some Immodium last night and feel fine today, aside from some
gas-like cramps. It must be that something in them didn't agree with
me, as my husband and daughter both ate them and are fine - no d*.
Ah, I must look at the positive side - I lost three pounds since
yesterday morning - I'm only two pounds from my pre-pregnancy
    weight! haha!

Sounds like you're in the clear. Might have actually been what you were
drinking too rather than what you were eating. Watered down cola tends
to be a prob for me.

Hey that could have been from your body just being a bit "off" that day, ya know? I doubt seriously it had anything to do with FP at all! There are days where i can eat the mildest of foods (nothing saucy or spicey) and i'll end up with exactly what you said...all gassy and have bouts of d*. Do you happen to have IBS? With IBS, practically EVERYHING or NOTHING can end up giving you d*. hehe! Happy to hear you're feeling better now :-)

Also, don't forget, and i HATE to say this lol, but as we get older..(don't hit me! lol)...our bodies just do what they want to do, we can't tolerate the things we could in our teens and twenties!! Now i don't know your age, but just by you saying you are married with a child/children, that gave me the impression your "older" than the teens hehe! Forgive me if i'm wrong! :-)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
