I do.... If I gag while standing up, I pass out. Its happened many
times, I went to the doc for it and they said it was somethign with my
veso vegal nerve. Like if the same thign happens to you, and you have
to gag.. stay where you are, dont run for the br or stand up, stay
laying down or put ur head between your legs.. you make a mess, life
goes on, you pass out, you feel worse longer. you know?

yes... one of the top 3 reasons im so scared of v*

I have never passed out before, so I have no idea what it would feel like! My roommate had an SV over the weekend, and she passed out in a store while trying to buy Tylenol, but hadn't v*d since the night before, I don't think. I guess it depends on the person! Another of my friends passes out a lot and she almost always v*s when she wakes up. Who knows!!

I have never passed out from v*ing, or being close to v*ing. The only time I passed out was quite the experience. I was starting a brand new job in a big city, and had just moved there. My FIRST day at work. I got really queasy and chalked it up to nerves and anxiety. Then, all of a sudden, I KNEW I was gonna v*. I ran for the bathroom, but never made. I woke up with these people looking down at me, and all worried and stuff.

Turns out I had an ear infection, caused by the pool that was in my apartment complex, that I had used almost daily for about 2 weeks. I never went back in the pool!

I get the opposite of that...Ialmostv* when I pass out!

I've fainted twice in my life, and before both times, I've been close to v*ing! I get really hot, and start seeing things inweird, brightcolours, and then I feel like I'm about to v*...then everything goes black. Thank god, actually...I'd rather faint than v* any day!Edited by: angel13

No, i can't say i've ever fainted when i had to (or ever "thought" i might) v*. I don't remember ever fainting in my life, although i know there were quite a few times when i FELT like i could faint. Once in a great while, (and i have no idea why), i feel faint JUST by hearing a graphic story of surgeries, V*ing stories, or bleeding stories, etc..yet i am one who loves watching graphic surgeries on TV and can help ppl out when they're bleeding. So i have no clue as to why certain times i am so squeamish, when other days i can handle the goriest of things! Hmmm Maybe my blood pressure is unusually low on those particular days..i really don't know.

I haven't actually fainted, but my vision has gone fuzzy and all i can see are stars and i feel like i'm going to v* then...usually when I haven't eaten. I flop on the floor and lay there forever and then it passes...

I've only passed out two times in my life. Once when I was a 3 I fainted and hit my head on a cement wall and got a major concussion. Then I passed out again after waking up cause I had a concussion. I remember being in the hotel room (we were on vacation when this all happened) and my mom was eating chinese food and it was making me nauseaous so I made her and my aunt eat it in the bathroom.

The second time I passed out I was like 5 or 6. I was riding my bike and I flipped over the handle bars and hit a tree. I ran home and got my dad and he took me up to the bathroom. I remember standing and looking in the mirror and my mom moved my bangs out of my face (LOL I actually had bangs...that must have been a LONG time ago) anyway there was this huge lump on my forehead. I started to cry and my mom was like, "Oh honey I know it hurts." And I was like, "that's not why I'm crying." And she was like, "Then why are you crying?" and I was like, "Because all the kids at school are going to make fun of me." Then everything goes black and I remember waking up on the couch down stairs as some doctor prodded at my eyes to check my vitals.

Both of those times I didn't Vomit but I felt close to it but I'm sure it was just from the concussions. LoL I'm a walking accident!

The biggest reason that ppl feel as though they are going to v* before passing out, is b/c your equilibrium inside your ears are out of whack.

For example, with those who have MAJOR migranes, you sometimes v* when it gets really bad. Usually before that happens you will get very dizzy and your eyes are all funny. It's your equilibrium out of it!

Just a bit of info!!

I have never passed out.

I think it's because I am afraid of passing out as well.

If I feel dizzy or faint, I force myself not to pass out.
I must face my fear.
I will allow it to pass over and through me.
When it has gone past I will turn my inner eye to see it\'s path.
Where it has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. -Dune

I have been passing out about 2-3 times a year for the past 3 years. Apparentlysince I lost a lot of weight my bloodpressureis now pretty low, soa lotcan set me off (strenuous activity, getting up too fast, being ill, etc.) Generally, before it happensI feel really nauseous and like I'm about to vomit- but then I wake up and have no clue what just happened or why I am on the ground.

So....Kelli, are you surethe reason whyyou passed out was because you were going to be sick, or could it have been that you felt sick because you were going to pass out?

The worst times for me- after sexwith one ofmy ex's (scared the hell out of him), andwhile getting out of the bath and nearly drowning (scared the hell out of me).

Iv passed out quite a few times, but not in a long time. I used to be very severly anorexic from this stupid phobia and had the typical bad anaemia that goes with it. I passed out loads of times from lack of oxygen to my brain, sometimes when i was barely moving. The first time it happened i was on a trampoline at school and passed out, i didnt know at that point that i was anaemic, and nowone really knew the severity of my eating disorder. I had quite a nasty accident because no one caught me when i fell so i landed quite hard on the wooden gym floor. Lol i remember being covered in bruises but with no recollection of how it happened!

I have also been knocked out which feels the same, but it really hurts when you come round. I was horse riding in an indoor school and was thrown off, but instead of falling on the soft groung, the horse bucked and i went sideways into the wall and hit my head pretty hard. When i came round i was in A and E. I must have hit my head pretty hard because my crash hat had split in half! Luickly no major damage done, just concussion and wiplash.

I get migranes alot too and i have the wierd head spinning side effect from it but i havent v* from it. Many migrane medicines actually contain an antiemetic also to stop you from feeling and being sick.Edited by: hollyjean

On Monday, an elderly family member of mine was V* from something at
their home all afternoon and they passed out, fell and got injured.

And I have been known to pass out just from someone telling me about
SV's but hopefully my days of fainting from scary stories are over.

I would think that it can work both ways, if you are about to faint you feel n* cos of the whole equilebrium thing and if you have been v*ing you could pass out from dehydration. Personally it's never happened to me.

Now that I think about it, the feeling you get when you're faint is
somewhat similar to the N* feeling IMO. I guess because it's an
involuntary senesation that leads up to something we can't control.

One thing that puts a twist on that is migraine headaches. Had one of
those once, Lord have mercy, that was miserable! Felt n* and faint at
the same time, and actually had to hold on to the walls as I made my
way to where the pepto was stored and then stumbled back to the couch
feeling faint but less n* and fell asleep for a couple of hours.
I remember that in the thick of it, I couldn't decide if I should wait
in the bathroom in case I had to v*, at the risk of passing out on the
hard tile floor or if I should go to the sofa and lay down at the risk
of v* no where near the toilet. I got through that experience with no
v*.

I have freaked myself out so badly that I passed out twice.

I've passed out more than that, but always in times of stress, or fear. The first time ever, was at the Vet with my kitty who had an absess. I told the vet (my exboyfriend standing next to me) that i needed some air. Well, I didn't make it two steps. My ex, he just watch me falling, the vet (he was super cute!!) had to jump over the little metal table they use to catch me. The vet was also a nurse, and he handed me juice right when I came to. Where he got it, i have no clue. But he said that the sugar, and the liquid would help if i felt n*.

The few times I've fainted due to feeling sick, I had myself so worked up that I acctually was standing by the bathroom door in both occations telling myself i could handle it, that people do it all the time, that the big bad V was nothing to be afraid of. Panic turned to faintness, and the rest is black. But when I awke up I don't feel sick anymore. Just cold, and sweaty. I told my husband the last time that I sorta liked passing out cause it seemed to prevent the big bad V in both occations.
I\'m FINE! And so are you.
