I called my friend today to see if she wanted to do something on Friday. She said that it sounded good, because he fiance is going to be out of town and my DH is going to a besketball game. So we were talking and making plans when she sais out of the blue like it's completely normal, "oh Bryan's (her fiance) mom is sick, and I'm here right now." So I said, "what kind of sick?'" and she said "oh you know, the flu" and I said, "the stomach flu?" and she said "yeah". (By the way, she knows about my emet.) So I had this little debate with her about when she would catch it if she didand so on, and I said, "well, I don't know about Friday then." So anyway, there is not really a point to this story except that I have been fraking out ever since andI am going to have tocall her tomorrow and tell her that I won't be able to do anything on Friday. It's my birthday on Saturday, and I don't want to be worrying myself to death on my B-day. I hate how this phobia is so life altering!!!!!

I know how you feel. I have broken so many plans just on the slight chance that I may be exposed to something. Dont go if you are going to be worried! You can see her some other time. And have a great birthday weekend!

It seems like there's lots of birthdays in here around now.

So happy birthday.

I don't know what to tell you about keeping the plans. If this person
lives in the same household as her mom, you might play it safe IF
you're going to be UNCOMFORTABLE and do something else. OTherwise
if they are feeling fine and you are cool with it then go ahead with
the plans.
