the other day i came home really hungry, and had a yogurt out of my
fridge. it sort of seemed warm, but i thought "it can't be, it was in
the fridge for a week" and kept eating it. then my boyfriend came into
the kitchen. being the emet that i am, i asked him "this yogurt seems
warm, is our fridge broken?" he said no, that the yogurt was in his
lunch kit for a few days, he said he had meant to throw it out, but
guessed he put it back in the fridge for some weird reason. this was on
sunday, which meant it had sat in our warm house at room temp for 2
days!!!!!!!! i totally lost it on him, immediatly felt sick, and broke
off all my plans for the day to hide in my bed and wait to get sick.

it was awful...i was bawling, had the worst panic attack ever..and for
some reason could not get onto this site for help from you folks

i was fine of course...thank god!!! but i was freaking out and i feel bad for losing it on him.

just thought i would share my "i ended up being fine" story

    Wow!

I'm proud of you for getting through that.

I would be a mess. From now on, pay attention to what you're eating!!!

It just goes to show you that there isn't always a guarantee that a
food item will definitely provide the ride environment for bacteria to
grow or cause someone to be sick. My father told me about this study
they did somewhere where they purposely tried to grow bacteria in
    mayonaise and couldn't.

Yogurt (live cultured yogurt) is very good to eat if you think you have eaten something dodgy. Just thought I would share this with you. My mum started eating some chicken peices she had bought from the supermarket, and my sister read the label and it said partly cooked. So the chicken mum was eating needed to be cooked properly. Mum panicked, and was worried, so called the doctor, who suggested that she eats large quantities of live yogurt to counteract any nasties which might arise from the chicken. incidently she didnt get ill.

you can eat yoghurt out of date without being ill (within reason) it just goes fizzy, my dad actually choses to eat it out of date because apparently it make your toung tingle. he's hardly ever ill, and never from that, so i dunno. i would never do it though...

Yeah! I would have done the same and I would have given him a spoonful of the yogurt and told him to grab his barf bucket and join me in the bathroom!! The scary thing is that I'm being serious... He would be joining me or nursing me back to health.

We would have also had a serious discussion on *food preparation*!!! I would have torn him to bits and then fed him to an animal after I got through in the bathroom. My nervous stomach would have been bad enough to deal with!!!

I just don't tolerate stupidity. No sorries about it!
