My friend.....also Emet....

I have this friend, my best friend actually of 10 years. She is also Emet, kind of odd because neither one of us even knew what it was till about this time last year. ANYWAYS.....I want with everything in me to not be afraid anymore. But she says she does not want to get rid of the fear because she feels like when she's afraid she will always have an excape route, but if she's not afraid she will have to face it. It really doesn't make any sense to me. The way I look at it, I'm gonna be faced with it through out my life afraid or not, I just don't want to be afraid any more. What do you guys think?

I dont understand.. She is afraid of not being afraid? That she will face to face her fear then? Is that what you are saying? Sorry, just want to make sure I am getting this right.

It doesnt make sense to me either. You are right, whether you face it or not, it will still be the same. Maybe it allows her not to think about it all the time? That is the only positive that I can think of that may come from that situation.

That is really cool that you have a friend that has this phobia. I would love to have someone close to me that really gets it.

It sounds like she is trapped ina box of not being able to understand what not being afraid would mean. If she is not afraid, it won't matter if she comes in contact with sickness anymore because she won't care, but it seems that she cannot understand that.
