I got my 3 year old a flu shot and he has gotten one every year. It is not necessary, but I do it thinking one less thing to worry about. I get one every year as well and I did get the flu last year when i was not able to get one due to the shortage.

Most Dr.s say it is not necessary for kids over 2, but my peditrician said to do it this year and we did. he got his last week and he had no trouble. I got mine last week as well and my arm was sore for a day and my son said his was a little sore but not too bad.
TRY to live each day like it were your last

Precisely why my MD said not to do it. That one year that you can't get the shot.... you have a problem.

For adults and non sensitive groups, drugs like tamiflu are a better
plan of attack, both post and pre symptoms if you were exposed to the
    coodies.
