My husband and I tried one of those ovulation tests, and although it is still about a week before I am due for my period, I decided to take a pregnancy test this monring. It was a brand I haven't used before, but it says it is really sensitive and can detect a pregnancy 6 to 8 days after conception. I saw the faintest line! At first I thought maybe it was just a shadow of the line in the background, but then I remembered people telling me that any line is a positive. I am so excited, but trying not to get my hopes up I want to tell my husband, but I want to make sure first.

I thought I would try again in a couple of days. I feel kind of n* now but I wonder if it is just nerve induced. Any advice? Is that definitely a positive? Anyone ever have a false positive?

Sounds positive to me. Think it is very rare to
get a false positive! Maybe if you are not sure wait until your
period is due and take another test, would probably show up more then
as it is quite early on.

Well, I took a second test after I got home from work. THe line is still faint, but darker than this mornings. The line is DEFINITELY there. I just told my husband and he is in shock. Now on to the morning sickness worries . . .

My first 2 tests were negative. I tested 11 dpo. Then I took another one the day my period was due and got a faint positive. I had to study it. But then I took yet another one and its a REAL strong positive!

I hope you are....we will due around the same time (I think) July babies!

madisonsmom - Yup, according to the internet I should be due on 7/14/2006. When are you due?

I used one of those ovulation predictors and it gave me a surge line on Oct 20. SO I am guessing I ovulated either the 21 or 22, which would put me at about 9 or 10 dpo. I used a pregnancy test that is sensitive to 20 hCG. I have used pregnancy tests before and have never seen anything resembling a line. This month was the first month I used this brand, but I did try one a couple of days ago which was negative (I know, too early, but I was anxious!). I actually pulled that one out of the trash to compare it to the ones I took today!

I keep having to go back in and look at them to make sure there really is a line there! It doesn't feel real to me yet. It's like I can say "Yeah, I'm pregnant" but I don't really believe it. I have been kind of n* all day but I'm sure it's all nerves. I really hope I don't get morning sickness! I was so anxious to tell my husband, but I wanted to be sure first so I didn't get him all excited over nothing. I still can't believe it!

I know exactly how you feel. I still have a hard time believing it. I took another test today just because I dont really feel pregnant. I went to the grocery store and passed all the coffee and the SMELL made me SO nauseous! UGH.

I had a blood test done today. I know I am definitely pregnant - my period is a week late.

If you see a faint line...you are pregnant. CONGRATULATIONS!

    My due date is 7/5/06

I took another test this morning because it just still doesn't feel real to me. I think the line this morning was actually a little fainter than the one from yesterday afternoon. Is that bad? Does that mean that maybe I lost it already?

This may sound gross, but I am scared so I am going to ask. Yesterday when I went to the bathroom I had this large clumpof discharge come out. The color was whitish (normal) but it was a pretty large amount. There wasa tiny bit of red in one spot of it. Is that an early miscarriage? The was no pain or cramping or anything with it. Nothing more before or after either. I am so inexperienced with this! I was surprised by how upset I was this morning when I was thinking I may have lost it. Even though I am in shock, I really wantto be pregnant!

I would say your still preggo. any line means your pregnant, so you can't be any less pregnant than you were yesterday, right? hehe.

I dont know much about the whole discharge thing, since I have never been pregnant, maybe someone who has been preggo can say something about that, But i wouldnt worry too much about it.

dont worry silly girl when i was pregnant like 1 month pregnant for a week i would bleed like large clumps of blood i thought i was miscarrying but i went to the doctors and they did a ultrasound and i was fine so was the baby the doctor said its normal that even some women can get a period for up to five months and be pregnant . also when i took a test the line was very faint but as long as there any sort of line its positive check with your doctor but i would say you are for sure pregnant and stop worrying so much its bad for the baby

I spotted while pregnant also, and everything was fine. Sex caused me to spot during pregnancy, so that can do it. Also, you do get discharge while pregnant so don't be surprised at the gross things that do come out

I spotted during both of my last two pregnancies. Both times nothing was wrong, they did ultrasounds, HCG levels, the works, and never could find out why I was spotting. My doctor said that some women just do that. I spotted off and until my 11th week of pregnancy with my last baby. I would go ahead and make an appt. to get in to see my OB soon as possible to confirm your pregancy and ask him/her about the discharge.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Congratulations sillygirl!

My husband and I tried for the first time this month too and no dice! What will be will be I guess!

About your spotting. I read something somewhere about something called implantation bleeding. Some women spot when the egg is attaching to the uterine wall. That could be you. Be patientI guess, it's still really early.

    Wishing you baby dust!

Wow, lot's of prego emets. Can I join in? I just found out myself and my due date is 6/29/06. I have two girls already, 4 and 6. So far, I've just noticed the tired feeling setting in. I haven't experienced any morning sickness and I am confident that as long as I eat something every couple of hours, I'll be fine. The worst time for me with my other pregnancies was right before lunch.Going more than a couple of hours without at least some pretzels or crackers was a bad idea! I took two tests when I was two days late and got faint lines with both. It's now almost two weeks since my period was due and I didn't bother retesting. I just know how my body feels pregnant. My OB doesn't see you until you are at least 7-8 weeks along. I've noticed an increase in discharge and that's completely normal as your hormones kick in. I also spotted with both my other kids and everything turned out fine. Congrats and don't worry. You'll do fine!

You didn't hijack it madisonsmom! I am tired too but I'm not sure if it is baby related or from all the ups and downs we have had with an offer on our house falling through.

I have had some cramping tonight, kind of felt like period cramping. It lasted for an hour or two. I am scared now that I am going to lose it. I am trying to relax and eat right and everything, but I am still so scared I am going to lose it. My mom had 3 miscarriages before having me, plus I have heard it is common for first timers to miscarry. Are these cramps normal? A coworker told me she had cramps and thought she was about to start her period but then it turned out she was pregnant. This is going to be a crazy experience!Edited by: sillygirl

YES! It is SO normal. I still have crampy pains. As long as they are not real bad and no bleeding. I thought I was going to start my period and of course didnt.

You are fine...this is your first pregnancy right? You are so much like me...a worrywart!

I am a worrywart! But I have no idea what to expect! I have only told two people, besides my husband, one being my realtor so she could tell the guy who was thinking about buying our house to try and light a fire under him, and then a girl at work that I completely trust. I haven't even told my mom yet. We are going out to lunch tomorrow though, so maybe I will tell her then. I could use someone who knows what's going on for support otherwise I will be asking you all TONS of questions!

    Hi sillygirl,

I'm scared too of having morning sickness. I want to get pregnant so bad, but at the same time I'm worried about the morning sickness, and giving birth, and just my nerves in general when/if I get pregnant.

I just found this board and am so glad! I didn'trealize so many people suffered from this phobia. I thought it was just me! I never knew of anyone w/ this phobia, and it's hard to explain to people. Nobody likes to v***t, but what they don't understand is I have an actual fear of it. I panic, get nervous, feel faint and just plain jittery if I think I might v***t.

Good luck with the pregnancy. I have a friend that had cramping in the beginning, and it was normal. You have to try and relax but I know it's not easy, because you want it so bad so you worry over everything.

Keep us posted on your progress.

sillygirl, ask us all the questions you want to, we are here for you. I think most of us will be more than happy to give you any advice or support we can on your pregnancy. Its nice to "talk" about something besides emet!!!!

I still say go ahead a see your doctor, I think it would ease your mind. All doctors are different, but it couldnt hurt to call and see if he wants to see you before 7-8 weeks along.

I was plannin gon calling the doctor Monday. I am technically not due for my period until this weekend, so I thought I would wait until then. My doctor told me to call when I get a positive, then as long as everything was going okay, she would see me in 3 or 4 weeks (at about 7 or 8 weeks along). I am scared, though - what if I have morning sickness before then? She knows about my emet and told me there are things that can be done, but I am scared to even experience it once.

When will it start if I am going to get it? I read somewhere that some "risk factors" are 1) if family members had it, 2) if you get motion sickness, and 3) if you were n* or v*d on birth control pills. None of those apply to me so I really hope I don't get it. Does it hit suddenly or is it gradual? Like will you have just n* for a while or can it go straight to v*?

I think it is starting to feel more real to me now. I am really starting to worry about mornign sickness! The funny thing is, what most women worry about (like the pain of the delivery) I haven't given a second thought!
