Weird things served at restuarants.

This isnt a post about food poisioning or a restuarant being nasty.

Have you ever been to a restuarant and thought, why is this kinda place serving this?!?!?!? For example, I was riding through town yesterday and saw a sign at the local Waffle House and it said ........... "Now serving crab stew." I thought, hummm, do I want to eat crab stew made at a Waffle House. Its like I dont think it would be any good because it was made at a Waffle House and thats not the kinda place I would expect to see crab stew on a menu, know what I mean??

Have any of you ever thought this at a restuarant before?

For sure Leigh...i always think that's weird that would serve weird things at a place that does not specialize in that type of food...weird weird weird.....and no i would not order or eat it either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, this is so funny, I always think about that stuff. Like there is a McDonaldsin the Walmart by my house, that grosses me out. Snack bars in stores gross me out in general. I really don't like restaurants that serve random stuff out of context. That's why IHOP freakin grosses me out...they are a breakfast place that serves like steak and fish for lunch and dinner. That is deeeeesgusting.

That is soooo funny b/c I think that way all of the time. What is even funnier is my husband is a FREAK about that and he isn't even an e-met. He always wonders about places serving items they don't specialize in. I worry enough about seafood at a seafood restaurant much less anywhere else. You couldn't pay me enough to eat crab cakes at a waffle house!!!!

LOL mjewell, my husband can not stand IHOP. The children and I love it though. Even though they do sell found that is out of context for the type of restuarant they are. Why IHOP doesnt bother me I dont know, but I wont be eating crab stew at the Waffle House!!!! I wouldnt eat it at IHOP either, lol!!!!

I remember a few years ago we went through the Burger King drivethrough to get a drink and on their Dollar Menu they had some sort of Taco thing. I thought it was sort of strange since burger king is mostly "burgers" not tacos.
