school freakout

what a day today was.



first thing this morning, a teacher says to me "you saw me here, but im
not staying ive been v* and my stomache is in knots." so i think "this
is gonna be a great day"



so two kids have fevers with stomach ahces, and one goes home v*. he
looks GREEN. i am SO SCARED that i am going to catch something.



on top of that, four kids tried to jump another kid, so there was
basically a mini riot, i have neevr seen anything like it. then i had
to help in a restraint, and i bruised my hand, which is no big deal.
but then i had to drive a coworker to the doctor because he got punched
like 4 times in the fight. so then i was sitting in the waiting room
like "i wonder if any of these people are v*, and thats why theyre here"



so im completely freaking out, and i want to just quit. what are the chances of me getting a sv* from one of these kids???????

Yeah you probably won't get sick. I think as you get older your immune system gets better and like Leese said emets RARELY get sick. Just remember to wash your hands and stuff. As for the fight that's terrible! One of you co-workers actually got punched? Sure there were times when I wanted to punch a teacher/adult but I never did...although I got very close once or twice.

i think that you deserve a great award for doing this job with those kids. I don't know how you handle not just the worry of SV's, but the violence. i would be scared of so many things there that I could never work well. I think they are all right about the imunities and plus, we are such good hand washers that i think we keep germs to a minumum. My poor son now washes his hands pretty well and tonight we were out at his soccer trophy ceremony at a pizza place and he washed his hands and then he told my husband, "daddy, you pushed my chair up too far and I had to touch the table...now mommy will need to use that GermX on my hands again." I laughed so hard and then started thinking I hope no other parents heard my neurotic 3 year old!!!! LOL

Im starting to get worried again because I feel hot. I dont know why,
my period isnt coming, and i dont feel sick, Im just having a hot
flash. I am getting really really nervous. I know you guys said i have
a slim chance of getting sick, but i cannot get that through my
head. I just keep thinking "it is inevitable... its going to
happen, its my time, its been too long." etc etc. i hate this sh*t. its
so crappy. i wish i was afriad of something else, like worms or sharks
or something. why v*??????? why is it something that makes us worry
EVERY freakin day????????

i always wish it were spiders or worms or even houseplants. things that
are AVOIDABLE. but people and food are not avoidable...you can get sick

You will be fine. I've been around a lot of sick people lately, too, and I have been so worried.
